Could this season actually be the best chance to break the streak?

The team is young and the crush of expectations next season will be unreal. Maybe youth and tempered (but quickly rising ) expectations for 2015 make the perfect storm

Since Aug 1, Starlin Castro is hitting .353/.378/.563. It's like we made a great trade to replace unbelievably crappy Castro with better than ever Castro.

Apparently sitting his *** on the bench for Addison lit a fire under his ***. He's still not been great defensively but he's decent at 2nd.

And I thought I read somewhere that Joe Maddon believed Starlin's error the other night at 2nd was on AC/DC.

A friday afternoon after a victory over the Pirates to tie them for the wild card? Yeah...I'd take that! :jiggy:

Tie wont be possible as the Pirates play on Thursday and the Cubs have an off day. If the Cubs win tonight, and the Pirates lose their next two, the lead will only be 0.5 games for the Pirates, and a win by the Cubs on Friday would put them in the drivers seat.

If the Cubs and Pirates end up tied at the end of the season, what would the tiebreaker be to determine home field for the wildcard game? Is it head to head record?

Good catch. Would make it even better!

He's also standing closer to the plate and is seeing less pitches. It seemed like he was trying to fit in with the front office's strategy of controlling the plate by making pitchers work. But he seemed to be starting almost every at-bat down 0-2 or 1-2, now he's being a lot more aggressive and swinging at the first good pitch he gets..
