Mike Olt didn't do much to help himself either. He has a 2 week window to prove he belongs on the roster and he goes 0-4 with 2 K's while looking completely lost at the plate last night which looks a lot like his lines from last season. Opening the season with just 5 hits, 2 walks, and 12 K's as a team not pretty either. Yeah the Cards K'd 11 times too but they also got guys on base and executed well when they had guys on base. The Cubs defense sure didn't help matter either allowing a few free bases too. I know it's just 1 game and there are 161 more to go but the concerns everyone had going into the season pretty much all played out on the field last night.
On a bight note, we didn't see Edwin Jackson last night after a short night by Lester :twitcy: They are probably saving him for when one of the back end of the rotation guys gets rocked early and it won't matter what he does unlike last night that all it would have taken is a couple solid innings at the plate to be right in that game.
