What's your assessment of Iowa State's placement, both nationally and in relation to rest of BIg 12?

Agree with this; if I had to put together preseason rankings I would likely have us between 30-40th spot. That said I don't blame national writers for putting us lower at this time.

KenPom has us around 25. I'd say right now until we prove more we should be 35.

Without Lard/Young/Talley we showed we can play and beat Nebraska who was top 30.

Some people say higher when it is a higher number. I have never gotten why you would do that. You want a high ranking - that is a lower number. After all people say top ranked when referring to #1, not bottom ranked.
