I am surprised there hasn't been a thread about this already. I can't believe the series is ending tonight. I will dearly miss this show.

When I was a very young child, my favorite TV show was a kids-oriented TV show called Battlestar Galactica. Then I grow up, and as an adult my favorite TV show is an adult-oriented TV show called Battlestar Galactica.

I'm frakking geeking out on this one. I'll admit it.

I try every couple months but that is the exact and only reason I can't stand the show. Now if they came out with and edition where they would say ****, then i would definetly watch the show.

So, thoughts?

It took me a while to come to this conclusion, but I liked it. At first I was expecting something more--like a lot more character deaths, for one thing. But each major character did get a send-off of sorts. There were a few overly sappy moments I could have done without (like Baltar's speech to Cavill basically ending the war), but I suppose they deserve a happy ending after all of the crap they all went through during the entire series.

I liked the idea at the end of fast-forwarding 150,000 years to present-day Earth and raising the question of whether we're heading toward the same fate as the characters in the show. The montage with the robots was funny and kind of disturbing at the same time.

One of my major geek outlets is gone now. Just about all I have left is Lost and Star Trek reruns. :biglaugh:

There is always another geek outlet, my friend. Part of being a geek is continually finding that outlet. No geek can keep the geek in.

I suppose that's true. For several years, my outlet was all of the different Star Trek series, but the last of those ended a few years ago. Ever since then, it's been BSG and Lost. Now BSG is gone, but Lost continues at least through next year. Then I have no idea what I'll do.

The promo for Caprica looks interesting. From what I'd heard about it, I thought it was going to be similar to BSG, but it actually looks very different in the promo.

Beat me to the punch. I was going to start a thread on it myself.

I loved the finale, loved it. Totally satisfying for me as a longtime fan. The best thing is I have gotten my whole family involved in it, especially my sister. She's a bigger fan than I am now! Even though it's kind of a waste of money for me right now, I will be forever thankful to Netflix for allowing me to experience this wonderful show after it got started on Sci-Fi.

I expected some major characters getting offed. Overall I was pretty happy with it. I was curious to see what part of history they'd put them in. I'm glad it wasn't modern day. Although I wouldn't have been surprised had they landed in Egypt during the time of the pharohs. Just look at the old series and some of their designs.

I totally didn't see the Starbuck thing coming. I actually said out loud, "WTF?" Not in those terms. I never do that.

I'm not sold on Caprica. Also, it'll be interesting to see the made for tv movie of the Cylons side of things.

BTW, the guy reading the magazine at the end was Ron Moore, the writer.
