Apple needs to seriously think some things through. I dont really understand their logic on leaving Adobe at the door.

Sound like Android 2.2 is poised to really spice up their already growing base.

I happen to love my Incredible. Google has won me over.

I thought the iPhone was a great peice of tech. Very smooth. But honestly Apple is coming off as boneheaded and snobby in some of their latest moves.

Google really seems to have the will and resources to be innovative and give customers what they want. the Incredible is fast, innovative, and downright useful. I have been toying with Shazam, pretty fun app. I highly recommend it to anyone with an iphone, android, etc.

Apple seems like theyve been resting on their laurels a bit, while android has been rapidly improving. And yes, apple's constant 'we know what's best for the consumer' crap is something that im not so sure i want to deal with.

Waiting to see what apple does here in june as far as getting verizon an iphone or not and making my decision from there, but some of these new android phones look pretty sweet (galaxy S in particular)

For those that have the incredible, how is the screen? Ive heard there are some issues with viewing it outdoors..

The only thing i still dont like about android is that it seems you still have to get your updates through your handset maker and not straight from google like you would from apple. For example, it could be several months before the Incredible gets the android 2.2 update.

Dont notice this. I have my brightness all the way up though. Out of the box its set to medium I believe. As for updates, I havent a clue. I guess I would have to research that more. This phone seems to have more Verizon hands off than my blackberry did.

I have an Eris and love it. The only thing that I've found so far that it can't do vs an Iphone is the Iheartradio app, but that's not really Google's fault. Other than that, the web browsing is great, Pandora works pretty much everywhere I've been, and the sync for calendars and contacts has been reliable. Wouldn't buy anything but an Android now.

And as far as the updates, yes it does go through your provider now but there are rumors that Google will change that in the next few versions (possibly through manufacturer instead). That is nice in some instances, however, because hardware providers such as HTC add their own stuff on that's actually pretty good.

1460 does not show up on the droid version. It apparently works on all the others. But, of course they still advertise that you can get it.

Can't speak directly for him but he may still have 1.5 as the 2.1 rollout for Eris is not due to be complete until Tuesday. There is a slight difference in marketplace app availability for the two versions.

2012 at the earliest. AT&T's exclusivity contract was made public not too long ago.

I think iPhone OS 4.0 will help Apple. The new iPhone will too... But Google is coming strong, and the flash support will definitely bring some new and exciting things to Android.

I have the Moto Droid and am happy with it. It isn't a perfect device, but it's pro's outweigh the con's.

Just need to decide if it is time to root... Maybe if 2.2 support comes in a ROM i will.

Not necessarily true. The only thing that was made public was that they had a deal in 2007 for 5 years. That doesnt mean there hasnt been renegotiation at any point since then, and neither ATT or Apple are talking on that. Hell, ATT couldve made a concession for that in order to get ipad exclusivity, or Apple couldve bought out of the deal early (verizon is an absolutely huge market for them to get into, they'll make up for what they pay ATT in new sales).

Theres a lot of smoke out there that apple is readying a verizon iphone... more than we've seen any other cycle with this. Only a couple more weeks til we know for sure though.

I've pre-ordered Sprint's EVO. Currently have a TouchPro2, and can't wait to get rid of WM. My wife has the Samsung Moment and loves it. June 4th can't come soon enough!

I'm totally with you on the EVO. As far as the hardware specs are concerned, there is no other phone out there that even comes close. And I am a big fan of the Sense UI that HTC is putting on their Android devices. I'm up for an upgrade in July, and it can't come fast enough!

What are the promises for 4.0? Features that everyone wanted to begin with or something new?

A month or so I would have agreed that this seemed to be in the works, but it seems that the buzz in the industry now is that there probably won't be anything in terms of a CDMA iPhone in 2010 or 2011.

Verizon is a big chunk of market in the US, but Apple is selling the iPhone globally. With the GSM standard dominating just about every other market, the importance of the Verizon market to Apple isn't such a big deal. The numbers seem to show that people that really want to get an iPhone will bite the bullet and switch to AT&T regardless of the fact that the customer service and the network aren't exactly awesome. It would be a great benefit for the other carriers to get the device, but I'm just not sure I see the motivating factors for Apple.

I have android running on my touch and touch diamond. I haven't used Android on my touch pro2 yet, but I'm sure there is a way for it.
