Surprised it took so long.

I think the right owners could make that location awesome. Legend's just kinda sucks though. A jack of all trades is a master of none.

And you better have one HELL of a business plan to make a million bucks for the space worth it when your closest potential customers are cheap college kids.

There is probably a teacher somewhere wanting to purchase this and provide good customer service.

So is Legend's not renewing their lease or is the owner just looking to cash out? I like going there for the views of campus and it's a cool enough set up. The food is serviceable, but I wish it was a little better.

I want to open a restaurant but not one where Legend's is.

Ames does not have a place to get a good steak and we are in the middle of the midwest. I have never understood how this has happened without anybody at least trying to open a steakhouse. Think of all the business that place could bring in during graduations, before and after games, and when kids go for orientation or move in. I honestly think most people avoid going to Hickory Park because they know it is going to be packed during those times and I think a place to get a good steak is what Ames needs

That location has the potential to be a premier restaurant for ames. Legends wasn't it.

It doesn't do itself any favors by being located in BFE next to a trailer park, that's for sure.

Is that the place that used to be the Broiler or whatever it was called?? I agree with you, that is a horrible location to open a business. I majored in business for two weeks at Iowa State and I learned that if you want to open a business, two important things are location and word of mouth. That place has neither going for it

I've heard mixed reviews about it, we have thought about going but we always forget about it when the time comes.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I had a few friends in town last fall and they wanted to go get a steak in town and I had no idea where to take them. It would go over well in Ames
