Absolutely. We need bigs. Fred just can't cut it here. Our run and gun style just doesn't work in college basketball. It's so awful we will have to fire one of the greatest iconic in Cyclone basketball history, but when you can't recruit you can't recruit. Next man up. It's unfortunate that we will never get as good of a coach here as Travis Ford or Dave Rice, but they are once in a generation types of coaches. Maybe our next guy can bring in more bigs. In basketball 50% of the game is scoring and 50% is defense, and we never win the defensive side with our guys looking like hobbits swatting and giants.

I mean, you want facts, I've got facts. The last three years every one of our best players has left the program after one year in it. White, Clyburn, Kane. It's become an epidemic and I don't know why no one has addressed it. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again this year with one of our starters. You can't burn through your players like that. I know everyone likes him because he's local and a nice guy, but something needs to be done.

I'm not worried about a season that is 2 years away, because first, I may not be alive then. And second, Hoiberg put together a team of Royce, Babb, Allen, Booker in like 4 months with no notice. He's got a plan for those years already.

Im pretty sure Bryce Dejean Jones will leave us after this year and he is obviously one of our best players. Add another great to the list that has left us after one year because they cant get along with hoiberg. ridiculous

The OP is right. Fred has honestly NEVER signed a recruit or transfer late in the season. There is total reason to be concerned since he has seriously never done this. This OP needs to seriously get a grip.

As for the posters worried about the '37-'38 season, I stay up some nights scared for my life how little Fred has done for that season. We aren't even going after a single recruit or transfer yet in that class. We are doomed! I plan on impregnating Maria Sharapova in about four years so as long as it's a boy, ISU will have their first recruit in that class in about five years unless his handlers steer him in the wrong direction at age 2. Then we are screwed!

If you seriously don't trust Hoiball yet then you don't deserve to cheer for us. Go cheer for Iowa instead if that's the case. I bet they don't have anymore available scholarships for the 16-17 season.

Why do we do this to ourselves? 2 games into the season? Enjoy the ******* ride and STFU!

What do you mean we? I see one poster who even the Class A #1 worrier in me thinks is ridiculously overreacting and then a whole thread full of people telling him that it isn't a problem and having fun with it. We aren't doing anything to ourselves.

Anyone else worried for 2016-17 and beyond? Cupboard looks pretty bare. We lose Hogue and BDJ this year. Our Junior class this year is loaded with Niang, McKay, Naz, Nader. Morris might go pro before he becomes a senior. Would've been nice to redshirt Naz his freshman year to balance these classes.

Assuming Morris goes pro early, that leaves Thomas, SDW, Cooke, Custer, Darien Williams, the Greek, and Kourtlin. That's banking a lot on massive improvement from our existing guys, and landing some major talent in the transfer market. Just seems like we whiffed on the 2015 class by only signing 1 guy in Williams. I know we're probably reserving schollies for transfers, but it's probably safe to say we may have a transfer or two of our own that frees up some schollies, so was keeping those scholarships free really necessary? Considering we have someone transfer out every year. Bluford and Percy last year, Okoro two years ago, Railey and Sledge three years ago, etc.

So am I crazy to be a little worried for 2016 and beyond? Or should I just trust Hoiball.

Do you check your door locks nine times just to make sure that they're closed? That's an awful lot of worrying right there.

You can't be serious. Yeah things get really scary in 2025. We don't even have five players right now

Holy crap, just got me noticing we don't have anyone signed for 2020. Looks like Fred is out of gas. Come on...enjoy the season folks!!

When Hoiberg actually gives us a reason to worry, I still won't worry.

I am more worried about our 2020 - 2021 team. Don't even have any one signed up yet. Oh crap. I just thought about our 2040-2041 team.... none of them are even alive yet. Should I worry or trust hoiball?

You have a reason to be worried. The fact that Hoiberg doesn't have a single prospect for 2040 is terrifying. Half the teams in the nation already have a few prospects! We are done! Let's fire Hoiberg!

Well our 2016 recruiting class is going to be really good so this thread is dumb. Worrying about a college basketball program 2 years in advance is just silly. So much can change between now and then.

We lose a lot, but we still have plenty of time to fill spots.

Fred will find 1-2 impact transfers at a minimum, to go with Cooke, Custer, Thomas and Williams. Tsalboris, may still turn out to be a good player, as he moves well, just needs to adjust and add weight. That is a solid core of players. When you add in a couple of transfers, and potentially some really good HS recruits for 2016 (we should look attractive with those holes to fill), then you can see how you're probably a #4-5 B12 team and 10 seed worst case scenario.

When you get get to that range, during your "reloading" years, then you're in a really good place as a program.

Oh, one more thing OP.....

Enjoy this year first. Your post is sort of like Royals fans whining about the future, during the middle of their World Series run.
