It’s insanity. Has there been a single transfer out under TJ that has done anything, let alone meet the expectations of the fanbase, after moving on? Maybe there has been, I just can’t think of anyone.

Do you mean the ISU fanbase, or the fanbases of the teams they transferred to?

Tre Jackson had a couple of really solid seasons at Western Carolina once he went there; he had one game where he scored 42 (!) points.

Anyway, clearly an example in his case of transferring to a better spot for him.

Yeah...I do trust in TJ and company for the most part, but something is up with our HS recruiting in that these Top 100 players we have brought it (and a Top 10 in Omaha) aren't seeing the floor. And I know that's part of the new college basketball game and all, but I'm old enough to remember the days when we would get really excited as a fanbase when these kinds of guys were signed. Now they sit on the bench (and it's worthy of legitimate debate on whether they should be sitting on the bench as much as they do or not; IMO we played our starters more than we needed to when we were up by close to 30 points against the low major "buy" teams in our non-conference schedule).

I thought Rock was a guy who could have stepped right into Chatfield role. Guess not.
Rock just looked stiff out there,
Omaha did nothing at WF I know he was hurt part of the year.

We play starters so much based on NET scores if you are expected to beat a low major by 27 and you only win by 17 you get hammered in the metrics

Sucks, hate it, but that is the new world

Tristan Enaruna was good for Cleveland State and is now in the G league with Ward.

ISU fanbase. The guys in the bench seem to always be the most popular players.

I don't disagree with you on the bolded part, but it's completely absurd, and needs to be changed post-haste.

As it is, at this point I'd rather take the hit when it comes to the metrics than have our starters get too many minutes and be so worn down at the end of the season. We just looked damn tired out there last night. I know that injuries are a big part of that, but the difference in energy level between us and Ole Miss was striking.

Ok, I knew a scenario like this would come up. I should have clarified, going to similar competition and not down a tier or 2 in conferences.

I agree wish it would change.
But don't think it will

The only answer the is Tyrese Hunter then

Right, and that wasn’t an PT issue, that was a money issue. I guess my point is, the guys who leave, are fine players but have been recruited over. In this day and age, that’s a sign of a healthy program IMO.

Correct. No one has transferred out under TJ due to PT that has proven they should’ve been playing more by producing in a power conference. Grill was booted, Hunter went to get paid. Everybody else so far has gone to low level conferences.

Plus I think people need to revisit the term mid-major. WCC, MWC, and AAC are mid-majors. The rest are probably low D1s. If your league is a one bid league almost every year you’re not a mid-major.

Hope Watson and the other guys go find a good spot as a role player on a P5 team or more prominent role on a smaller conference team. Seems like a great teammate and can really rebound.

2 of the 5 starters the last 2 seasons were HS recruits, and started as Freshman. That seems about right where we should be in today's landscape.
