Honestly, losing Rock feels pretty bad. He came here young, and we put in the early development years with him, and now it's on to showcase what he has learned. I get it, the new reality.
I will be shocked if more guys in Rocks recruiting situation do go mid major. You’ve got your top 30 or so guys who can go contribute in this landscape. After that, with the portal it’s going to be hard to get time. Go the mid-major route, get some early PT and then transfer up and get paid.

Have to think he might have had a better chance sticking in another system. You'd have to be a pretty unique 7 footer to be asked to guard on the perimeter

Yeah...I do trust in TJ and company for the most part, but something is up with our HS recruiting in that these Top 100 players we have brought it (and a Top 10 in Omaha) aren't seeing the floor. And I know that's part of the new college basketball game and all, but I'm old enough to remember the days when we would get really excited as a fanbase when these kinds of guys were signed. Now they sit on the bench (and it's worthy of legitimate debate on whether they should be sitting on the bench as much as they do or not; IMO we played our starters more than we needed to when we were up by close to 30 points against the low major "buy" teams in our non-conference schedule).

I thought Rock was a guy who could have stepped right into Chatfield role. Guess not.

Didn’t have rich parents?
I believe Cade Kelderman is unrelated to the Kelderman Manufacturing folks. Not saying his parents aren't wealthy (maybe they are, I don't know) but it's not the same people.

Positional arguments aside, he spent yesterday on the bench watching Kelderman play.

The problem is, you can't just ignore the position argument. When there were injury issues in the front court, he would (and did) play.

Based on what?

There’s a subset of IsU fan that thinks we have the second coming of Taurean Prince sitting there not getting minutes.

It’s insanity. Has there been a single transfer out under TJ that has done anything, let alone meet the expectations of the fanbase, after moving on? Maybe there has been, I just can’t think of anyone.
