One thing I don't think anybody has mentioned (and if they did, it should be mentioned again) is that this game was a vast improvement in the number of penalties ISU committed that influenced our game plan. I don't recall any procedure penalties and can't recall if we ever jumped offsides where it changed things up.
Winning in the margins.
Very good point. We only had two penalties. One was personal foul on a third down we didn’t covert (didn’t really impact except for field position). The other on Freyler for PI which was probably a smart play given that was an easy TD catch otherwise.

You must be just miserable tonight. 11-3 and you are simply pissed. Hypothetically, if you were to get drunk and fall asleep on some train tracks, I only think two or three posters would miss the positive attitude you bring week in and week out.

What kind of question is that? Did you watch the whole game, both halfs?

This isn't rocket science Bob.

When you decide to crap all over a bowl victory that gave us 11 wins for the first time in school history other posters who appear to be bigger and better fans than you are will call you out for it.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The one thing I missed was.Maybe it was in the third quarter, when rocco ran the ball in for a touchdown. I jumped up celebrated and then quickly ran in the other room to put some wood in the stove. And when I came back they were putting the ball into 1 yd line. Did they say he was down or did Miami call a timeout right before the play?
They said his knee was down. I never saw evidence of that. I was about to put my wood somewhere, until the officials ruined that.

Rocco was very deserving of player of the game, but my MVP goes to Jaylin Noel. Senior leader, the singular focus of the secondary, and still had a huge game. And that doesn't even start to mention the most important part in the leadership that he showed by going out there when he really had nothing left to prove. He's an all timer in my book.

Funny how fast they disappear after a win.

Even I am very happy for the team, staff, and fans, especially those that made the trip.

They showed up and earned it.

I love that CMC had a team ready to play a bowl game.

And it sounds like the OC called a really good game.

I hate the "exhibition" talk, and that the game doesn't matter.

You step on the field? It matters.

I guarantee every player for ISU at this game will remember going to Florida and beating Miami.

I loved seeing the celebration including the PopTart!

I'm still not convinced the Freyler PI shouldn't have gone against the WR on that play.

This was one hell of a special season. I hope younger folk don't take it for granted. I'm only in my mid 40's but even that old I've dark times in our fball past and older than me have seen darker.

I'm not sure exactly what my expectations were for this year. I know wanted to finally beat EIU, finish in upper part of conference and go to a nice bowl game.

Well we did beat that team out east and rode that moment into a record tying start to the season and in the first year of the 12 team playoff it was us not EIU looking to the team from Iowa to crash the party.

Then we had our stumble. But this team bounced back with amazing resilience (unlike a Pittsburgh team that also started 7-0 then crashed and burned) and by taking care of what we could control and getting some outside help we found a path to the conference title game and a chance at making the playoff with a win.

Sadly again we stumbled but bounced back getting to play imo the coolest bowl game outside of the playoff games.

Miami had guys out or played less than usual but so did we and when.we lost Freyler I thought it could go bad fast.

But once again as we proved all season decimated by injuries on the defensive side of the ball it just the next man coming in and balling out.

I'm so thankful for this season as in the middle of it might life turned upside down and this season lifted my spirits. Just a hour before game time I was securing an interview.

Thanks to all for an amazing season and now we can focus on our amazing mbb team.
