"Bowl. Eligible."
After just three Big 12 games. I couldn't really explain this to the 14 year old version of me.

Rocco is not making the bone headed plays that Purdy would do time to time. What was impressive about Becht last night was that he came out hot and continued that way the entire game. He made all the throws a QB has to make, instead of missing receivers because he was overthrowing them.At this point in his career I think Rocco is better than Purdy.
Rocco knows when to throw the ball away. Those are hidden yards that Brock, for all his talents, would often give up.Rocco is not making the bone headed plays that Purdy would do time to time. A 7 minute drive to go a total of 33 yards is some hyper diabolical Kirk Ferentz ****, but it was damned effective when we needed it.One word describes the 10 play, 33 yard TD drive that took 6:43 to put ISU up 18 points with under 5 minutes to play: METHODICAL
There were times I felt Purdy was trying to do too much, forcing that Int. at the end of the championship game vs OU is an example. We were marching down the field to win the game and he tried to force a throw when he should of just thrown it away and get them next play. Becht is not making those mistakes, and we do not have Hall being a difference maker in the backfield.Rocco knows when to throw the ball away. I don't know man, second year Purdy was peak Purdy, threw for almost 4000 yards and 27 touchdowns along with 8 rushing touchdowns. At this point in his career I think Rocco is better than Purdy.
I agree. For the most part since he's been with the Niners, Brock has been much better in this area. I think it just boils down to wanting to make a play. There were times I felt Purdy was trying to do too much, forcing that Int. at the end of the championship game vs OU is an example. I heard an interview with Purdy going into his senior year, and that was the one thing he wanted to stop doing, but it never happened. One of the hardest things for a QB is learning to play at a high level and not make mistakes or silly throws. Becht is doing that the past couple of games, taking what is there and not forcing throws that could be trouble.I agree. Rocco is better at this point. He already has Purdy's year 4 pocket presence, he has a stronger arm that is just as accurate, he can run, he doesn't commit a lot of turn overs, he avoids hidden yardage with throwing the ball away, he stays calmer in general. He's really really good.I don't know man, second year Purdy was peak Purdy, threw for almost 4000 yards and 27 touchdowns along with 8 rushing touchdowns.
Great example of Death by One Thousand Cuts.I loved the way we got set at the line of scrimmage and then let the clock tick away....Showed 'em who was in control...
Purdy was great and saying I think Rocco is better at this point is no knock on him. I think ISU will have 2 QBs playing in the NFL before long. Rocco's 6-0. Both go through progressions better than most which I think separates them. Watching them Rocco has better arm strength. Short passes are crisper which makes them less likely to get picked which Purdy did at times. Both remind me of Joe Montana which is high praise.I don't know man, second year Purdy was peak Purdy, threw for almost 4000 yards and 27 touchdowns along with 8 rushing touchdowns.
I don't think that's ever going to change, no matter what we do. Been watching it in real time. That is why I was a little disappointed ISU didn’t punch it in at the end. Got to impress people that really don’t want to give ISU credit for being at the top.
Wish we had those game times. Guess they didn't need to worry about TV.
