I'm not going to pay for a 247 subscription, but am so curious what their "proof" is. Anyone got any examples?
They have no proof of anything other than what the coaches are claiming. It's complete BS, and if I was TJ and the ISU AD I would be livid. Hinting at this stuff and saying it happened without providing any evidence whatsoever is complete BS. If they are going to leak this crap to their local media buddies then they should just be forthright with what exactly they saw to level those accusations. But that won't happen because if they are actually honest about what they saw everyone will rightfully paint them as paranoid loons. I think most outside the K-State bubble see it that way anyways, but still this is ridiculous that TJ and the ISU AD have to deal with this kind of crap on any level.

They agreed to not discuss it publicly and then it was leaked within an hour or two after the game to an EMAW site (in fairness CW discussed the allegations too) and Kellis Robinette published an article about it. Tang has basically publicly accused TJ of cheating and I would be livid if I was TJ. I'm guessing TJ thinks its more trouble/distraction than its worth but after EMAW straight up made **** up and then consistently pushed the lies about racist remarks and fans throwing things (Including Tang's wife on Twitter) I'm pretty disgusted with their fanbase and wouldn't mind some sort of public calling out. If these assclowns want to whisper about some BS conspiracy theories lets have it out in the open and everyone can decide for themselves how ******* stupid EMAW is.

Ames is prettttyyy country. There's a segment of ISU fans and alums that I've always seen want to deny or distance themselves from it, but in my time it was definitely that way, and what I can see when I visit nowadays you still get plenty of that vibe.

I'm not one that sees that as a bad thing though, either. I grew up on a farm 3 miles from a town of 15-20 people and 4 miles from a town of maybe 120 people.
We are probably in the same ballpark as Manhattan is a nice community. Ames is too. But to say that our student bases and campus areas are similar, I disagree. Totally different feel.

You are not wrong, but neither is OP. I go to a week long conference in Manhattan every year for work, and I lived in Ames for 4 years pretty recently, plus also school.

Manhattan is noticeably more country. But you'd probably have to be very familiar with the nuances of "flyover" country to notice.

I'd almost guarantee someone from the coasts or major urban areas would not be able to distinguish "KSU world" from "ISU world" whatsoever. And that's ok!

I've lived/worked in major urban areas and in rural Iowa (Central and Southern). Big cities have their positives. Nice to visit. Cool place to live when in your 20's. 30's and up living? Raising children? Very much prefer small town/rural Iowa. Or small town/rural midwest in general.

It's not as if you replicated the towns in a different spots, but I've been in college towns all over the country, and Ames, Manhattan, and Stillwater are all quite similar to each other (and different than other parts of the country). All have college districts adjacent to the campus. All have separate downtowns. All have a mix of students that feature lots of kids from small, rural Midwest/Plains farm towns, and the nearest urban areas. All are clean, prosperous, well off vibrant communities that aren't large enough to be truly urban themselves.

We're more like each other than we are like anyone else.

WTF is EMAW anyway? It's annoying.

They don't have any proof (probably because it didn't happen). One of their staff clowns made a long post including video of the TV copy about the 8 minute mark of the second half and then circled in a still photo where they think Tang and an Assistant were pointing to the "spies". The pointing is more towards the corner area, 10 rows up maybe, not behind the bench. Pretty nice seats but high enough up I have no idea how a cellphone would get anything helpful audibly or visually.

They also deleted a post from a staff member about the "incorrect" theory ISU had a plant in security/arena uniform that was behind the bench and communicating the ISU staff. That likely occurred because Cyclone Larry screenshotted it and put it on Twitter and they got appropriately ridiculed. I chuckled because THAT post was too crazy but spying accusations in general totally make sense.

A couple of posters are correctly questioning how spying would be feasible given the time constraints and pointing out their staff and fans look batshit crazy without evidence. A few others have mentioned gambling or "that's how ISU covers spreads", and most just blindly believe it.
That’s hilarious they’d say that, considering the only reason we covered the spread was because Tang acted like a lunatic and got a technical.

When Randy asks again about the K-State ‘reports’ of the huddle accusations, I hope TJ has a witty response which will put this crap where it belongs.

That's what I'm trying to get at. I agree it's a little stronger at KSU. They seem to have fewer KC area kids than ISU has DSM area kids, and it's just farther away from the nearest city.

But like you said, you have to really understand the nuances of flyover country to get that.
Actually a ton of KC kids there
