I'm ******* pumped! He's a clear upgrade from Ferrotte or Jackson. Any Vikings fan that expected a big name top of the line starter was dreaming...

Sage made a lot of mistakes last year that you see a rookie making and I believe you chalk that up to having barely more game experience than a 1st or 2nd year man.

Here is hoping that he learned from his mistakes and can actually be mentored by Childress. And like everyone else said...needs some receivers to throw to...

The last 2/3rds of the season, Berrian was playing very well. Sid Rice and Visanthe Shiancoe stepped it up a bit too. With a stellar running game, solid line, and ok receivers, Sage should do well. He has more weapons around him in Minnesota than he did in Houston.

This is a steal for the Vikings. A guy who will immediately compete for the starting job, with starting experience, for a fourth round pick? Imagine what an upgrade this is over any QB they would have drafted in the fourth round.

Sage is a very good QB who throws too many INT's. His number are much better than Schaub's minus the INT's.

His choke against Indy is what is killing his stock. This is still a great deal for Minnesota

The proposed 4th round pick reflects how much Sage's stock has dropped in the last year. A deal didn't get done last year because the Texans wouldn't budge from wanting a 2nd while the Vikings were only willing to give up a 3rd.

Actually, quite the contrary. Its a sign that he's one year away from being a free agent, other teams will not give up as much because everyone knows he wants to play in minnesota and so that plays into the vikings hands for giving up less.

This trade makes a lot of sense for both teams. For the texans, they have Schaub back healthy and can use the pick to draft a backup in this talent rich draft. For the vikings, it would give them an immediate upgrade over Ferotte and Jackson. The biggest thing for sage is he's accurate which is exactly why Brad Childress wants in his qb.

Vikes get this done, they will win the North this year, my wife would love it if a Cyclone became the Vikes starting qb and all our relatives(hawk fans) that cheer for the vikes would also be cheering for a Cyclone!!!

Maybe we can get the Cowboys-Vikings playoff game we wanted last year....

The big fumble when he was stretching for a first down pretty much summed up last year. Since it is the last year of the contract, this trade is not a surprise. Obviously they still think Schaub will not be injured. :biglaugh:
