What's up with all these people with 1 post supporting the coaches? Coaches family? Hawkeyes?

Consider that it was M. Stoops' first HC job. I'm guessing he's learned a few lessons. He's familiar with BigXII country and Iowa. He's recently been out on the recruiting trail. He has a staff in place and can hire replacements for those ACs he's not crazy about.

We should look more at his record this year than previouis years.

Plus, brother Bob might toss a few "look at this kid" suggestions his way.

I see positives.

I'm guessing with Bob Stoops recruiting classes, he doesn't have to do a whole lot of "diamond in the rough" hunting.

what numbers are you referring to? his record is mediocre at best!

His record in the PAC 10 that is. He obviously would do better against better competition in the BIG XII. lmao

Instead of having USC to deal with he will have OU, Texas, T. Tech, Oklahoma State, Mizzou, and a resurgent Nebraska.

Mike Stoops = EPIC FAILURE for Iowa State

Did Auburn's hiring of Chizik start something? Now colleges are considering hiring coaches not based on their past record/success but on some other criterea?

We should only look at his record this year? The Pac 10 is a joke this year which makes his first winning record at AU a joke as well.

Not a hawk fan. I have to admit ... someone suggesting that I am ... that's a first.

Just didn't post before now ... no real reason to. I hope y'all realize we have to hire someone.

Maybe Pollard could pull a "Wayne Morgan" and hire Wayne Bolt.

Seems reasonable since we'll be playing him every couple of years that he would want to help us.

Just from the stories of how competetive the brothers are, I would say he would want to kill us each year by 200 points.

His "pedigree" includes Hayden Fry, which should automatically disqualify him for employment at ISU...

Remember how Hayden disparaged and treated ISU like a rented mule any chance he got? Why on earth would ISU hire an assistant from that atmosphere to be its head FB coach? And, yes, I asked the same question the last time it happened.

You may want to see a therapist if the Hayden era is still bothering you that much.

You are not the first person to suggest this, but I highly doubt that Bobby would do anything to help out another Big 12 school, even if his brother were the one coaching them.

I pray to the football gods (Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Vishnu, Shiva, Saturn, Quetzlcoatl, Aquaman... whoever may be listening...) that Mike Stoops is a smokescreen.

Danny Mac and that giant ****** are very close friends dating back to when Mac coached him when he was a DB(appropriate) at Iowa.

However, that friendship never stopped Stoops from trying to run it up on us, and his brother wouldn't stop him either.
