Wow, what a **** game. A lot of blame to go around:

Wigginton just played like hot garbage on both ends of the floor.
Jacobson did great on offense but man, he provides nothing on help D. Just watches guards shoot layups.
Haliburton passes up way too many wide open shots; both 3's and especially in the lane. If you're open, shoot it!
Guards can't stop dribble penetration to save their lives.
Whether it's playing time rotations or in game adjustments, Prohm is just waaay too reluctant to make adjustments. If things aren't working, change it up.

They are referring to the Baylor team that ended being a #3 seed. Doesn’t seem like an apples to apples comparison but it fits the agenda.

And the ISU team that lost that game also ended up being a #3 seed, and ironically enough, both we and Baylor ended up sh!tting the bed in the tournament that season. Should that ISU team have won that game in Hilton? Yes. Should we have won today against TCU? Of course.

TCU likely moved up a seed or two today, and we cost ourselves at least one seed. It sucks, no doubt. But, still plenty of season left.

I wonder how much this will hurt our defensive efficiency rating on the metrics sites like KenPom, etc.

I turned it off with just under 10 minutes to go. Inexcusable to have such a bad defensive performance, especially at home. Hopefully this kind of stinker is just an outlier for the rest of the season. But damn...this one hurts.

In both the TX and OU games it was thought that ISU was letting them get to the hole as a strategy iirc...pretty sure it's just a trend and ISU has been leaky on defense.

Is getting your ass kicked at home by a team that hasn’t won a road conference game and you have a chance to be in first place, considered a bad loss?

I guess I don't really understand how the coaching was horrible? Did the late press do anything? No.

Did Prohm shoot terribly from the field? Did he make poor decisions to create tons of turnovers? Was he responsible for TCU shooting lights out?

Non of this is on Prohm.

Prohm is responsible for player rotation. For calling time outs to stem the bleeding. For making adjustments to counter what’s beating you. I hope that helps your understanding of a coach’s role in a game. He did a horrible job on all counts.

Embarrassing loss. We had better come to play the rest of the year. We saw this in one or two years with Hoiberg teams where they were good enough to start poorly and come back. Eventually that catches up with you big time.

Yep, all Prohm's fault. You are so right and you really convinced me.

It's still a young team and adjusting to having a target on the back is just one more challenge after still learning the game.

If all this builds to having a monster year next year, I think it will be much easier to deal with as fans. Just hate to see such a great opportunity squandered. This year has been better than I think most people expected, but once you start seeing the possibility of a conference title, it's tough to ratchet back expectations.

One thing that teams have figured out is that none of our gaurds like to dribble left. They overpay the right so bad that they could almost go straight to the rim but they only take 1-2 dribbles.

Good observation. Good coached notice that.

Just got home and haven't read much.
Bad loss, TCU out played us.

Cam showed me something the last few minutes, he was diving, running, playing very hard. Glad he didnt mail it in.

Flush this game, get some rest.

Well, we won't be losing anyone to the NBA at least, so we got that going for us.

The issue with conference title talk is it was happening before halfway through the conference season when so many things can happen...like today.

The hope right is that ISU gets it together over the next two months and it's a fun finish.

We really only have one month to 'get it together'.

Its two single-elimination tournaments after that.

Only natural that the Prohm haters/Cult of Fred will be out in full force this afternoon.

But FFS, give it up. Fred lost some games in Hilton that ISU had no business losing too. I remember one season (maybe '14-15?) Baylor making 4 or 5 straight 3-pointers in a row and stealing a game from us at Hilton.

So, once. Prohm has recurring troubles protecting the home court. That wasn't a consistent Fred problem.
