But he did start calling to spread it out and run clock with 4 minutes to go and up 4.

I really thought Babb stepped up big time down the stretch. Obviously hitting that huge shot off the glass but also just being a leader. Glad Shayok knocked down that shot at the end also. A win is a win in this conference though. On to Oklahoma!

And we won by 5 against a team that is a very tough matchup against us by coming through on both sides. Not quite sure what the complaint here is.

I would have much rather had a 15 point victory than just a 5 point game, but this is the kind of games that good teams need to win when faced with a tough style, matchup, etc., and we did exactly that.

There appears to be a disconnect with how games go and how people think they should go. Just glad we found a way to grind out a W

People who want to take shots at Prohm after this WIN, are making it clear they do not understand the game of basketball and it’s unpredictability at all.

All or nothing type thinking is the reflection of an insecure mind

Honestly, IMO, it's all because of who's not on the sideline anymore.

And yes, that is a very sad reflection on those people who just can't get over Fred not being in Ames anymore.

"Talent rescues sub-par coaching."

I lol'd.

Guess that talent just wandered into Ames on its own accord.

Recruiting is much of college basketball.

actually, I think he said “in-game” coaching. Bringing up recruiting just plays into his premise (which I don’t buy).

Not so great of a performance today. Crowd was the difference. Felt like we helped elevate morals down on the floor when it was clear nothing was working at one point

Despite the ugliness, I’m actually more optimistic about the game in Austin now. I would elaborate but I’m pretty sure everybody is sick of me whining about zones.:)

In my eyes if I had to pick 2 possessions that were the biggest in recapturing/holding the win. It would be nwb’s 3 to tie it back up, and Lard’s block that turned into fast break points. Big moments to recapture and build momentum. A close third would be Shayoks last possession where he hit that deadly mid-range shot to put it on ice. That is huge for him personally to hit that after having an off game. He is clutch when it counts the most.

Lard was huge in this game. Glad he stayed out of foul trouble, as he was a difference maker. Also, THT played great defense on Osetkowski. MJ seemed to struggle, especially when getting switched to defending a guard out top. He would get blown by every time.
Glad our leading scorer and Wigginton could have an off night and still get a win.
