For me, the worst part was how the game was lost in the last two minutes. I don't know if this team just doesn't have a closer, or if there is one, and the offensive scheme doesn't put this player into scoring position in crunchtime. Under two minutes with small lead, you just have to get something better than two Nick Babb threes on consecutive possessions. I don't think it would have been possible for ISU to play more into KSU's hands for the final two minutes than what ISU did.

So I was traveling and missed the game- but not sure how much I’m going to sit through a 58-57 loss and certainly not skimming through this thread.

Can anyone give me a rundown of what happened?

Played poorly / first half. KSU made tons of shots they haven't been making. Not unexpected for getting an 11 am start game for our home game. Who wants to bet we don't get KSU or KU on the road at 11am? Played harder second half and had a nice run to go up 7 points. Lots of drives and no fouls that could have been and ones or free throws. Up 5 and get a stop with like 2 minutes left and the ref says ISU ball but jackass Derosa overturns the call from half court. They get a tough jumper. Two wide open threes to win the game in the last minute. No bueno. Up one and LW is fouled with like 15 seconds left and misses the front end. Drive and score and we lose by 1.

Kinda similar to Baylor in generally not good for most of the game, about 5 game minutes total of what the team is capable of, with some questionable coaching decisions and bad possessions on either side and missed shots late.

The older, stronger team won a close game at the end over the more talented outfit. Guards matter most. Barry Brown took it over. ISU guards didn't match his intensity or skill. It was a great B12 game that could have turned either way. But at this level age and experience matter a lot. And it did today when Brown hit the winner driving to the goal while ISU settled for a long trey on the last shot.

We lost to a team that had three shot clock violations where they essentially ran out the clock.

We played defense except when it really counted.

We have 2 5th yr. players and one 4th yr. so I don't think KState should be stronger. I do remember when Hilton Magic used to help pull us threw these types of games. Lots of mistakes from everyone involved from an ISU perspective and the biggest concern is that they are not being corrected. I seriously doubt that we make the NCAA tournament this year. We made it 6 years in a row and now with a 4th yr. coach it looks like we might be starting a streak of not making the tournament.

Not true at all, I was critical of him for taking the most talent we've ever had and finishing 5th place in the Big 12 and going one and done in KC that year. I wasn't critical of him for going to the Sweet 16, just pointed out with the draw we got that year that the Sweet 16 was a given for any competent coach.

Oh, bullsh!t. Stop. Just stop.

Last season, during one of your anti-Prohm rants, you went on and on about how his NCAA tournament success didn't mean nearly as much because he didn't beat "good" teams to do it, never mind that a #4 seed will play a #13 seed, usually a mid-major team, because, you know, that's how the seeding system works, and the #12 seed over #5 is commonly the biggest upset in the tournament by seed. And literally no one besides you thought it was so much of an issue that they wrote about it here on CycloneFanatic.com. If that is not the sign of someone who was dead set against a new coach from the very beginning when compared to your man crush/living god, I don't know what is.

And if you honestly think that team had more talent than the Elite 8 team with Fizer and Tinsley, aka two first-round draft picks, then you're either too young or too dumb to have a valid opinion on anything related to basketball, not that that would be a surprise at this point.

Is that the 15/16 season? The season Naz took a medical redshirt? Because I seem to remember the 14/15 season where a certain coach not named Steve Prohm with all that talent you stated plus Naz Long and future NBA talent BDJ couldn't get past UAB in the first round. Your schtick is getting old.

This was as about as bad of a loss as you can get, but K-State will be a tournament team and will only get better with everyone healthy now.

I just saw Tristan Clark is done for the year now at Baylor. That will be a really bad loss by the end of the year, Baylor will go 3-15 now.

Your first statement just confirms you have never been, and are not a Cyclone fan. Your schtick is getting old.

Whatever you say, that 14-15 team also went 12-6 and won the Big 12 tourney and was a 3 seed. We didnt get anywhere close to that the next year. Continue pumping sunshine, when everyone knows we will have 7 losses by the end of the month.

Just another reminder that the Elite Eight team was easily the most versatile team that ISU has ever had, likely most talented.

They ran a pretty basic hi-low on offense but most players on the floor could score from about anywhere so they were really hard to guard.

No ISU team has had that.

This is 2016/17 all over again when we played small ball with 4 guards and Solomon. The only problem there is no Monte and 3 other senior guards to get our offense going.
Actually......I like our future with these four freshman as much or more than those four. It's going to be a fun ride until they are seniors....just like the others. You on the other hand..........your schtick is getting old.
