Yet he's STILL on track for having a conference record this year as good as Fred could ever conjure up. I really think you have to write the history of someone AFTER they've actually done the things you accuse them of doing or not doing.

So you have this team at 12-6 or 11-7 this year?

I think winning with a group of players consistently not recruited by CFH and staff. This is not a lost season by any means. But if we finish a 8-10 in conference this year I think we can call the last two years failures.

Appreciate your take. Last year was a crap fest no doubt. I'm still trying to grapple with what a reasonable take on success looks like this season.

Iowa
Frustrating game with the below average officiating, coaching miscues and lack of effort in the first half.
K State is just way more tough than us and it showed. They also made more garbage shots than I’ve seen anybody make in a long time. Almost all were contested. Their offense is going to suck until Wade is all the way back.
Wigginton took some awful shots but looks to be rounding back into form. I love the side ball screen with him and Jacobsen or Conditt.
Prohm not taking a timeout at the end is inexcusable. It was clear to everyone we weren’t setup well and Wigginton was going to have to try a desperation shot. I just don’t think Steve is very confident at the end of games and it hasn’t burned us a few times now.

"he's done nothing in 4 years to change my mind except get some decent recruits to Ames"

What exactly are your expectations? Specific expectations? Sweet 16 not enough? Wins in Lawrence not enough? A clean program not under investigation not enough? Really want to know.

Plain and simple, it's because Prohm isn't Fred. That's really it. Don't forget that this loser was critical of Prohm because we didn't beat the Golden State Warriors to make the Sweet 16 in Prohm's first season. I am not making that up.

He's a fan of Fred first, last, and always. Not Iowa State. The sooner the more real fans come to realize this and start treating him with the contempt he deserves the better off this board will be.

I think Prohm is a good recruiter. However, I question what I see on the floor at times. The following are my thoughts:
1. No offensive plays other than a high screen pick and roll. We do not have any motion offense with back picks, rubs, or L cuts. If you do not have the ball or are not the post setting the high pick, there is little motion or help getting open shots. All we do is high pick and roll and pass the ball around the outside. This is most evident at the end of the game, we do not have a motion offense to run. All we have is a guard dribbling out front letting the clock run down and then set an on-ball pick and drive the lane.
2. We rarely pass the ball to the post on the block. Today, I do not remember one time where we passed the ball to a post on the block while posting up. We had pick and rolls and rim running where we passed to the post. I am not saying our posts are great with their backs to the basket, but at least we could do some inside out plays or ball reversals through the post. Our best 3 point shooting is on inside out plays. However, today, the only inside out plays we had was when the guards drove the lane and passed out. Yes, that worked. But we need more options. We hardly ever run inside out plays through the post. The bad part about this is that I do not know how Prohm will recruit further post players if you do not pass the ball to them inside. If I was a high school post player, I would not look at ISU as I wouldn't want to be used mostly for setting picks.
3. No out of bounds plays that get a layup.
4. Unclear substitutions during the game. I understand taking Conditt out after he missed a free throw. However, he should have been rotated with Jacobson on offensive vs defense at the end of the game.

Clear analysis here. That's a helpful perspective on the game and what is needed moving forward. Do you see these as trends as well?

Not true at all, I was critical of him for taking the most talent we've ever had and finishing 5th place in the Big 12 and going one and done in KC that year. I wasn't critical of him for going to the Sweet 16, just pointed out with the draw we got that year that the Sweet 16 was a given for any competent coach.

This was as about as bad of a loss as you can get, but K-State will be a tournament team and will only get better with everyone healthy now.

I just saw Tristan Clark is done for the year now at Baylor. That will be a really bad loss by the end of the year, Baylor will go 3-15 now.

We were spoiled by Georges. Very few teams in college basketball have posts who play inside out as well as his teams did. Great hands and wicked smart, he knew when to kick out and when to finish. And even more than that, his team could count on him when they needed a score. That's the one thing this team is missing.

Guy that had 16, 4, and 3 against us for Baylor is out for the year.

I take that as a sign **** is sideways for us right now.

You know it is bad when you leave the ISU game with a loss and go home and watch Iowa beating OSU. As I posted above, we had absolutely no inside post presence on offense today. Iowa is passing the ball into their posts in the paint repeatedly. Iowa's posts either made a post move trying to score or pass out to the wing for a shot. We have not had any of this type of play since Georges was running Fred's offensive schemes. Prohm needs to utilize the posts more inside. Right now our offense is too predictable. If the other team can stop the pick and roll or pinch on the drive then we are in trouble.

KU 18-2 at Baylor.

I wasn't one who was convinced that ISU was an actual contender, but this really is what you do to make those kinds of things happen.

Tech pulled it out in Austin too...don't think it matters as ISU needs to figure themselves out first.

Baylor isnt going 3-15 this year. Maybe 6-12 or 7-11 but Kegler and Mason will still present problems for teams. Drew gets his teams to grind.

This is 2016/17 all over again when we played small ball with 4 guards and Solomon. The only problem there is no Monte and 3 other senior guards to get our offense going.
