ESPN likes us now, apparently....

No. 24 Iowa State at No. 10 West Virginia, 7 p.m. ET Friday, ESPN2: You looking for a scary roster that could shake up the bracket, a squad boasting a résumé to prove as much? How about an Iowa State team that has won six in a row and recorded a road win over Kansas? The Cyclones lead the Big 12 in turnover rate, while West Virginia forces more turnovers (24.8 percent defensive turnover rate, per KenPom.com) than any other team in league play. But Iowa State has committed just 8.6 turnovers per game during this winning streak. The Cyclones lead the league in 3-point shooting, and they’re traveling to Morgantown, where lesser foes have left with victories this season.

Prediction: Iowa State 80, West Virginia 76

I agree. If Oklahoma and Oklahoma State can win in Morgantown so can we. ISU is not even close to being the same team during our first game against WVU. Solomon has arrived and we are on an upward trajectory. Conversely, WVU lost to Baylor, almost got beat by TCU (cheap foul), and it took two overtimes to beat Texas Tech on their home court....all in their last four games. ISU can beat WVU.

Is this maybe the biggest regular season game since the two title runs in 2000-2001?

I guess I don't feel that way. Home games against top 10 teams like KU and OU the last few years were bigger for me. The Michigan game with Johnny's last appearance was bigger as far as announcing we were relevant again. The KU road game was bigger this year as far as saving our season.

The 2 seed in KC would be great and picking up another top 10 win on the road would help our resume but there's not that much on the line if we lose. We've got at least a tie for 2nd locked up and can only improve our NCAA seed, ie we're not damaging it with a loss. I thought the OSU game the other night was bigger as far as sending the seniors off right. The term "house money" is being thrown around a lot and I've taken that attitude as well. It'd be a nice win, but it's not a must win.

Personally for me, no, although it would be really fun and maybe cement that ISU has 'arrived'.

The Baylor and OSU games were bigger from a standpoint of really making statements, and proving to do it consistently, but that's just my view.

I hear ya. But still, we win this game the confidence level of this team, the Big XII seeding and the NCAA seeding all get a nice bump. Not too mention ending the season in 2nd all alone.

I want to not feel the pressure of the game but if we want to win the games we all really hope we do in the tournament for a deep run, we should win this one.

I am just trying to decide appropriate amount of beer to have ready for this one.

The more the better is my general rule. I'll be a Thunderhead tough, so hopefully they don't run out of Busch Light!

Here nor there
I don't care about getting second place to ourselves. It's all about the NCAA tournament imo. This is a big opportunity. Win and our seeding goes up a line and we also get to avoid OkSt.

Make no mistake. I want it and feel like we owe these guys a few. I'm just trying to give my do or die mentality a couple days off before ramping it back up for the stretch run. I stressed enough the last month that I haven't sat back and really enjoyed these guys and what they're doing. I'm gonna buzz up and enjoy this one (at least as much as you can enjoy WVU prison ball) come hell or high water.

And the correct amount there is enough that whether you're drowning your sorrows or celebrating the win, you won't run out regardless. Cheers!
