Really need Rizzo and Bryant to step up tonight, haven't gotten anything from the middle of the line up in the post season.

I have mentioned this in a previous post but have to say this again. Do not like the designated catcher for Lester. You end up with a .170 hitter instead of Montero and Lester who is almost an automatic and poor bunter. Basically you only have 7 players with a chance to get on base and score a run. This is part of the reason Lester gets such poor run support.
Will be interesting to see if Joe still goes with this in Lester's next start.

Most definitely. Cubs won't win many games, let alone series with those two going 0 for.

I brought it up in the other thread, but I really think the Cubs should pitch Lester in Game 4 on 3 days rest and bring back Hendricks in Game 5 on normal rest (if they get that far of course)

I agree, but no way it changes. What confused me was that Maddon hit Russell 7th and backed him up with Ross and Lester assuring anytime he got on base he wasn't scoring. Do what you have done all season and drop Russell to the 9 hole.

Said it before and I'll say it again. Ross is a great leader. Let him be a coach somewhere. DO NOT let him play on your team.

Looked awful last night. Not just at the plate, but letting a few low pitches that weren't even in the dirt get by him.

I'm against throwing anyone, except for Arrieta, on short rest, don't think it increases your chances to win at all.

If it means not starting Hammel at all in the series, it most definitely increases your chances of winning. I think, especially if the Cubs win the next 2, you go for the ******* win on Tuesday at home instead playing it safe and risking a 5th game in St Louis. If you pitch Lester Game 4, you could start Arrieta Game 1 and Lester Game 2 of the NLDS on normal rest. If you start Lester on Game 5, you cant pitch him until Game 3 on the NLDS.
