All sounds good except the capacity. I just hope we can fill 65,000 seats at full price, not the next to nothing prices people on the hills pay. Plus, during down years the stadium will look bad with all the empty seats. Would've rather seen more like 45,000-50,000.

Why would 45,000 at premium prices be better than 60,000 with 20,000 of them being at reduced pricing? Much of ISU's increase in demand has come from the push when Jamie first came in to get more young families in the stadium. The discounted tickets in the end zone and hillside have been a big part of that.

You just need to find that price point(s) that fills the stadium without leaving money on the table. If there are some down years, then you'll see those extra seats go for pretty cheap. But if this team takes off then the amount of reduced price seats will be cut or eliminated.

You're about 4,000 long for actual seats currently.

I was over, but not by 4K (closer to 1200). Current capacity is 56800 and there are 12K hillside (per JP) so there are around 44600 actual seats. Original point stands.

Exactly. Plus the extra 15-20k in attendance also spend money on parking, concessions, apparel, etc. Think big or get the **** out!

Yeah, long-term it can be a great thing to have a wide variety of price points. You get people in with a low price point when they cant afford as much, and they become fans for 20,30,50 years, fans who down the road might be paying at the higher price points.

Only if you count the south bleachers as 'actual seats'

For sake of discussion:
1. Assume 45,000 actual seats (current sides plus/minus 1,000).
2. Assume 6,000 north hillsides.
3. If new total is 60-65,000, this leaves 9-15,000 in new SEZ double deck seating depending on club or suite arrangements.
4.I can add that I believe Ketel is accurate on what was he posted, unless someone appeals!

True and yes I was counting them -- and since the whole stadium is just bleacher seats anyway, they should be counted as seats. The AD calls them seats.

People who are worried we are overbuilding need to remember that at 60K we are really only adding about 3200 in total additional capacity (+5.6%). At 65K we are only adding 8200 (14%) capacity and with current demand and the fact we were already on the smallish side, those additions are not really that crazy.

And all the new seats are more valuable than any grass seats. We can finally move the "cheap seats" to the upper deck corners where they belong, and turn the south end into a money maker for football.

There are currently just under 42,500 sideline seats. This same concern on over-building occurred when we built JTS. Its was not a real issue then or now.

sorry if this has already been disclosed, but when will construction start?
There are no real designs out there, only what concepts the Reimans were presented. Current drafts are being done now. They actually expect work to begin this summer if I heard right, but nobody knows exactly what that will entail until plans are agreed upon. But what do I know...

Exactly .... we NEED some lower priced seats along with the bigger money seats. Appeal to the entirety of potential Cyclone Nation members to build a strong fan base.
