Cyclones working in film?

Hey all, wondering if there are any Cyclone fans out there who work in film? I've been making my way into post-production, and trying to make contacts within the community here and there -- and I realized I've never asked this particular community if there's anybody out there working in the industry?

Best Iowa HS athlete of all time

Ben Kueter from Iowa City HS just won the U20 world championship in Bulgaria for wrestling at 97 kg. He's a top 10 overall pound for pound recruit in wrestling. He is a Iowa football and wrestling commit- a 4 star linebacker, 2x state wrestling champ, and also a standout in baseball + T&F. It got me thinking he has to be high on the list of best Iowa HS athletes of all time. Some others that came to mind:

Tim Dwight - won a billion T&F titles + elite all state football

Jeff Clement - Broke the national all time hs homerun record, don't remember if he played other sports though

Jeff Horner - 4x elite all state basketball, standout in football, baseball, and track

Harrison Barnes - At times was the consensus #1 overall bball recruit in the country, did some high jump and long jump in T&F but otherwise didn't play any other sports

Austen Arnaud - One of the best HS quarterbacks I have seen play in person. Also played basketball, baseball, and ran track, was a standout in all 3 but not near as elite as he was in football

Naz Long Practice jersey

Hey all! Yesterday I posted that I had a Naz Long practice Jersey signed by Naz and Matt Thomas and was looking to sell it on eBay but needed a suggestion on price. They stated I should post it in this thread as people here care about ISU. I don’t really know how much to sell it for but I’ll take best offer. I have attached pictures of the jersey below. (It is reverseable)

Sirius XM Big 12 Radio

Just a general question... why doesn't the Big12 channel mention Iowa State in their self promo commercials during breaks? I've listened to this station for years.

I've heard:

Bevo on the 40 acres, Boomer Sooner, Rock Chalk not getting old, TCU fight em on the ice in hell, Pistol Pete, EMAW, Baylor Line, Red Raider and even the Mountaineers.

Why not ISU fights? Or where they sing Bells of Iowa State?

I tried reaching out to them here but chrome blocks the site:

Not sure if its a big deal but I've always thought it needed to be mentioned, especially with David Archer being on that show.

PAC-12 realignment podcast

Is there a better source for current perspective on the PAC-12 realignment situation than the C-Dubs interview with Jon Wilner? I've listened to it three times and find new nuggets each time.

Seriously, they are having a conversation that I just don't hear anywhere else. And it isn't just throwing ideas on the wall to see what sticks. These guys have such deep understanding of the Big 12 and PAC-12, as well as a keen sense of what is changing culturally and with media. I think I could recommend this podcast for anyone who is interested in college football conference realignment, not just Cyclone fans.

Why are gas prices so high in Ames?

I bought gas this morning in Slater for $3.39 per gallon, but when I got to Ames, everyone was selling for $3.89 per gallon. Why does it cost 50 cents more per gallon in Ames? And why does every gas station (except Sam's Club) sell for the same price. I don't think there is a monopoly, but maybe it is as simple as informal price-fixing. Is there someone in Ames who sets the price and others follow?

Reactive Dog on leash

Anyone have much advice for things that have worked for a reactive dog?

Notes:
16ish month old cockapoo.

He's tended to get super hyper and the attempts for organized socializing were marginal. Did puppy obedience classes when he was 10ish weeks old. He did OK but but would get too worked up and during 'social time' had to be pulled due to playing too hard.

Started out OK on walks, a bit excited but no big deal, eventually at some point started getting reactive/lunging/growling as other dogs approached. My fault was letting it go too long as most people would just say 'oh he's just being a puppy' even though I didn't feel like it. He walks loose leash very well overall.

We took him to an individual behavioralist who is more 'no nonsense' compared to the puppy school, and she pointed some things out to rework on training/routine etc. that helped a bit although at the last session she recommended melatonin and came out with the 'each dog is different' when it took like 40 minutes to get him to calm down enough to proceed with actual training.

He's not terribly food motivated so treating/association isn't all that effective so things like recall training have been so-so (still working on it).

We did get in at a boarding spot that has been great at slowly introducing him to calmer dogs and he's grown to do very well there for socializing. But it's off leash, with lots of time to get acquainted and with workers who monitor behaviors.

He's generally great if we see people on the trail, and doesn't pay much attention if there's no dog.

TL/DR:
Still some issues:
--gets pent up and barky if a neighbor/friend comes over and greetings aren't great as he's too jumpy/nippy but at least not aggressively. When he's in the 'zone' it's difficult to get him to snap out of it for a sit/stay etc. for better manners.

--still reactive on trail if we're meeting other dogs. If I can get him off trail and do a 'sit/stay' he's generally fine and will just watch them go by. I try to go to spaces that aren't a narrower trail to avoid seeing other dogs but some times it's unavoidable and also avoiding completely doesn't present learning/training opportunities. I took him to a dog park recently and just stood at the gate on leash as dogs came and went with their owners and he actually did very well.

My question: Is it worth going back to that park and walking him on leash to desensitize him even if he gets reactive or does this make it worse? Any other tricks that have worked? I don't want to pay for more training; with other aspects going well, specifically he needs work on simply walking by other dogs and trainers tend to milk the session.

Thanks.

I don’t have any idea how to call this one. Top TE priority for this class.
