I was more pissed after the ‘15 KSU game. Kneel.the.*******.ball!

I remember being super pissed after the ‘17 KSU too. Like cursing up a storm and punching the car door pissed.

I remember the 2015 KSU game and while it was irritating, I wasn't that shocked and was awaiting that final nail in the CPR coffin.

I'm not sure if I've been as ticked off after a game than the '17 KSU one.

Like 3 days later kind of pissed.

"The refs convene, and agree...Iowa State loses"
One of the best, yet worst, Heft quote I've ever heard during a game.

In retrospect I’m glad it happened because it led to Campbell, but the incompetence shown by the coaching staff in that game was just unbelievable. We all knew it was over for Rhoads at that point, him included. One of the most interesting series of post game shows I’ve ever listened to.

Way up there
I was at the FSU game and the K State flag pickup, K State was much worse. The FSU game was different because we were crazy excited just to be competitive with them and it was early in the year, it was to early to tell what/or if anything at all was at stake. The K State was more meaningful. Plus, it wasn't just that flag, they had two other flags picked up in the 2nd half that game that were also big. One was a hit on Kempt sliding, I forget the other atm but I've been going to games for nearly 4 decades and can't remember a time that many flags were picked up.

Not exactly sure.

The false start on their touchdown pass that they never called. I was mad the whole drive home.

I’ve said before, there are 4 games that kept Dan McCarney from being a legendary coach at ISU:

2001 - losing to Alabama on a missed FG
2002 - losing to UConn on Senior Day
2004 - losing to Missouri on a missed FG
2005 - losing to Kansas on missed FG

That would have resulted in following up a 9-win 2000 season with at least 8 wins in each of 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005 as well as 2 Big 12 North titles and 2 appearances in the Big 12 championship game. Had Mac done that, it’s possible he’d still be coaching the Cyclones (OK, maybe that’s a stretch).

3 missed FGs and a letdown game - that’s how close he was to reaching Matt Campbell-type status.

It's between the 2017 KSU game and the Alabama Independence bowl game. I'd say the KSU game because that one was stolen from us. No doubt we should have won that one. Went to the Alabama game with my wife and 2 young boys. I agree with CySmurf it was over the goal post and it was good. It definitely looked good in person. To me the big thing was this was our chance to beat Bama and we haven't had many opportunities to beat teams like that. Things have changed and we'll have more chances this year and the years to come.

And for some reason he would not use a scholarship on a kicker.
