9 seed. very happy the way this team played this year. can't wait for Greg Gumbel to say "in the South Region, the Iowa State Cyclones of the Big 12, take on...... Coach Fred Hoiberg played for three Ncaa teams at Isu, now has led his alma mater back to the Big Dance, the first time since 2005."

My question is if we get an 8/9 seed, who would you most like to play and who would be the worst match up. I would like Alabama and dislike Harvard.

It seems very likely that ISU will be an 8 seed. If KU drops to a 2 seed, because say Michigan State wins today and moves to a 1 seed, would that increase the chances that ISU could end up in Omaha? Right now with KU projected as 1 seed and Mizzou a 2 seed, and both projected to start in Omaha, ISU has zero chance of playing in Omaha. Being a 7-10 seed with KU a 1 and Mizzou a 2 seed means, no Omaha, but if both are a 2 seed and ISU gets an 8 or 9 seed, ISU wouldn't play KU or Mizzou until the regionals, and obviously they both couldn't placed in the same region if both are 2 seeds.

Omaha is not assigned to a specific region, so they could both actually play there even if they have the same seed.

I went homer and said 6. If our resume is every bit as good as Florida's and Vanderbilt's, and they're being projected that high, I don't see why we shouldn't be seeded that high either.

Hard to believe at the beginning of the year we were just hoping to get to the tourny and by the end of the season we were hoping for a better season - great year!

I think we will likely be the top #8 seed. In general, that would put us in a bracket with the weakest #1 seed. Who would that be, KU?

You can't be paired up with a conference team until the Sweet 16, possibly Elite 8 (the sole caveat being unless your conference gets 9+ teams into the tournament, and then the committee has no choice but to pair teams up).

I don't think we deserve better than a 7, prob 8, but finishing 3rd in the big 12 may be enough for the committee to take notice and give us a 7 or maybe a 6. Not that we deserve it with our tourney play.
