7..but I think the range of your selections is pretty accurate. Don't think we'll get 5...6 is a stretch but possible but 7-10 is my real guess. There's really not a lot of difference between a 7, 8, 9, and 10 in the tournament.

I treat it as one. Last year I took both Thursday and Friday off and this year I"m doing the same. There's no way in ******* hell I would be able to concentrate at work with all the games going on. I'd rather use two vacation days than use up internet bandwidth on my company's network while I hit a "boss" button when a few select people walk by.

Also, my friend was working at a bar in town doing some Finance stuff and had me help her with some Excel stuff. She actually gave me a sheet with their revenue for everyday of the year last year. March Madness was by far the most profitable day. I'm talking about like 200-300% more revenue on tournament days than other days, even holidays. $100,000/day for a decently sized, but not huge bar. Was pretty cool to see

Yeah I take Thursday and Friday off of work every year too. Love the Madness!

This is first year I'm taking both Thurs & Fri off. In years past my department would go somewhere as a group one of the two first days & the other day was my most unproductive day of the year. This year we aren't having a group outing so I figured I better just stay home & use PTO instead of having 2 unproductive days in a row.

That 100,000 day depends on what city it is in. I don't think Ames would get that. Maybe not even a mid-size bar in Des Moines.

And I'm rushing the court if we're a 7 seed!!! :jimlad:

I am having my wisdom teeth taken out Thursday morning so I had a solid excuse to miss both Thursday and Friday from work. Now That's dedication!

Totally. It's in Chicago, but in a good location. The only food they do is appetizers/bar food type stuff ($5-$10 a plate), but based on what I saw from any other day of the year...pretty wild increase. A typical day..let's say June 25th or something, was anywhere between $10,000-$20,000. That's mostly off beer and liquour sales. Some days in the summer were more (like weekends) but the tournament days were absolutely insane versus the others.

I think there's probably a 75-80% chance we're in that 8/9 seed range. 20-25% we're either a 7 or a 10, with a 7 seed being more likely than a 10 if that's the case.

As for match-ups...I've seen us projected to play A-10 teams like Xavier and St. Louis. Also teams like Purdue and Alabama. Lunardi's latest projection has us playing UCONN. Don't really care for that match-up. I'm not scared of them, but they have a lot of tournament experience, and although I don't care much for Calhoun personally I do think he's a hell of a coach.

Harvard would be an interesting match-up as well.

The selection committee already has the seeds for at large teams picked according to the committee chair on CBS

Unfortunately I think we are a 9. I just hope we don't get stuck in the same region as Kentucky or Syracuse

8-9 seed is unlucky because of the Goliath that awaits the 2nd round. Oh well, time to shock the world.

I think you read that wrong. I thought the article said they have the teams already picked by Saturday and Sunday will only be the seeding...

On CBS tv they interviewed him and he told Charles Barkley the seeds were set for All at large teams. The only thing left is jostling around at the top for the automatic qualifiers and number one seeds.
