I disagree. The reason people hated the white helmets at first was because of this rendering. You need to have white pants with the white helmet or it looks pretty bad. I think the white helmets look good on all cardinal or all gold though; but that's just me...
The link no longer works, but the message said it was equipment guys messing around and it was sent January 2011. Wouldn't put too much into this.
I was so ****** when we unveiled the Cardinal helmet. They gave us the options on a white helmet, and I thought all 3 logos looked good. We are 3 years into the new logo design and now people are starting to warm up to the white. I don't know if we need to permanently switch to white for home, but for a game or two a year would be very nice.
Let's talk about something important, player evaluations. Judging by the pics earlier in the thread, I think it looks like 26 and 3 aren't ready for big 12 play. 26 is pretty floppy, no muscle tone, and 3 looks more like a soccer player, needs to put on some weight. 88 has potential, nice muscle structure, but he's going to have to work on the no legs, no arms, no face thing.
Agreed. I also saw a pic of the white helmet awhile back (don't know if it was the same one in Rosy's pic, but it was a ISU white helmet)

I honestly got the picture of the white helmet last year and it was only for concept purpose...if in fact the staff agreed then they will wear these a few times this year but I believe its for the away jerseys only. We were gonna wear the Gold jerseys for Homecoming but it would have been too much pressure to keep wearing them if we won, or never wear them again if we lost with that many games remaining. So by wearing them in the last game we got a chance to test the waters. I can almost guarantee that we will wear them again this year.

Haven't read the whole thread yet, but fyi the white helmet in the picture is an older style Riddell, whereas we switched to the the Revolution style exclusively last year or the year before. If I'm not mistaken, I think the entire roster wears a variation of the Revolution technology.
Correct, the stripes make it look a LOT better. That's the one thing I hate most about our current helmets... they need stripes down the middle real bad.
But more importantly, it really crushed me to find out that this wasn't going to happen (white helmets). Has anyone sent this on to JP at all?
I think we didn't want to look too much like Nebraska with white helmets, red (cardinal) jerseys, and white pants.... but Nebraska is gone... so why not go with it?
The original rendition of the white helmet years ago looked awful. If they could have produced the picture of the actual helmet as shown in the OP, I think the vote would have been MUCH different.
Let's get white helmets, cardinal jerseys, and white pants at home. And go all white on the road. It would look sweet. Everyone let JP know!
Exactly what I was thinking. I like the fact that we have gone back to true Cardinal instead of Red. I also like the fact that we are unabashedly going full gusto with our school colors in the uniforms. We have to have a white away jersey to satisfy NCAA home and away rules but that doesn't make it a school color. If the dark blue background in the Cy logo is unacceptable (I really didn't have a big problem with it), then why is an entire helmet in a non school color okay?
In the end, we are just talking about uniforms. I don't care if they wear clear as long as they win.

I don't know. I think I'd have to object with clear uniforms, even if we went undefeated in them. That would be just too difficult to watch. Although it would probably freak out our opponents...
