That's not the same. You didn't speculate one way or the other about someone else's job.

But I didn't think it was the right thing to do to just use this place as my fall back if what I truly wanted didn't pan out. I know this isn't comparing apples to apples, but I think we forget honesty really makes things simple.

No, but I wasn't the only one bidding on the company either. As I said not completely apples to apples. To me it is just more black and white, either you are staying with your current job and you say so or you want to go a different route and you say so.

One thing about how long this is being drawn out is that it seems like a lot of people have already gone through the 5 stages of grief with losing Fred. So, when it's officially announced, most fans will be like "Finally. Now, lets move on" verses having all of this happen within 1 or 2 days and we're all blindsided like "WTF. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"
At least that's what I'm thinking.

Now, if Fred somehow decides to come back it'll be like we just won the lottery. Otherwise, I just want to get this over with.
Agree. And if he stays does anyone want to go through this carp every year? Poop or get off the pot.

Under normal circumstances, I woulda been melting down like the rest of you, but I'm wiped out from being the dad of a 1 year old. I have no energy to even be worked up about this. Besides if FH leaves, JP will be able to reel in a big time coach as a replacement.
I'm guessing it's more that you are realizing that being a dad is 1000% times more important than worrying about athletics. I could be wrong.

Try writing up what he should tweet out that would help this insecure fanbase? Unless there is no shot in hell of him leaving, he can't.

It's called professionalism. He's not going to comment to say he's in discussions/considering a job that's not even open. We're all free to believe that's what he's doing, but he's not going to say it while Thibs still has a job in Chicago.

But by all means, keep nit-picking to find more things to whine about. I'm sure that'll solve everything.

Yes, he should say he's never going to leave. Because that's a stronger bond than duct tape.

Seriously, you guys have a coach who's considered one of the very best coaches in the country, including the NBA. I'm not sure any other fan base could genuinely drum up the gumption to complain about that.

Uh oh. Guilty...

There is a lot in this. So many thoughts,

Pollard may have asked him to stay silent. Applebee's and the hoiburger deal. So many things.

Maybe Fred is not on CF or Twitter and isn't even aware of the mass hysteria going on around him.

Hoiberg maybe leaving ISU for another job is nothing like any of us leaving our jobs so arguments using this example one way or another aren't very valid.

And 1 kid at a time? 1 kid at a time is a flippin' vacation. :)
