Dear Coach and Wife:

It's no secret how long pregnancies take. And we know what happens to good basketball teams in March. Try a little better timing in the future.

(sorta)

Gotta send Prohm out of the house during the summer, then.

He literally saw tweets from people speculating that Prohm would be a candidate for Alabama.

His "story" suggests that Prohm is a leading candidate. Those tweets suggest Prohm would be "a target". In my eyes, leading candidate and target are two different things.

From Randy's "story":
Multiple national reports link the successful Iowa State coach to his alma mater — after Alabama administrators and current coach Avery Johnson negotiate a buyout.

That link leads to a CBS story where Prohm is briefly mentioned:
"Steve Prohm's name will buzz for that Alabama job (he's an alumnus and highly qualified for the gig), even as his Iowa State team plays in the NCAA Tournament. From there, questions about ISU will surface. If Prohm were to leave, well, Fred Hoiberg returning home would make for one heck of a story. (Hoiberg has also reportedly been connected to the Nebraska job.)"

Randy makes it sound like Prohm is leading to get that job where as that CBS article simplly states Prohms name will "buzz"

Randy is digging way down deep for a shi* story and will think he looks good when he gets a lot of replys/retweet and clicks.

Terrible Journalism. Randy could have made it much better by changing the headline even. But with a title like " Reports: Iowa State's Steve Prohm is a leading candidate to replace Avery Johnson at Alabama" he's simply going for attention. Its terrible and he's always done it.

His headline is completely off basis with what is actually being said out there.

While you're right, nothing will be done until all the people on here that are pissed email the editorial chief at the Rag and/or lay out this reasoning why it's off basis on his shared article on social media. Just huffing and puffing on a message board does zilch. I've already emailed the Rag.

So you like your conspiracy theories oddly specific... Good to know going forward that the bigger the tale, the easier it is to get people to believe.

I mean you've got to admit that is a lot of detail for someone to make something up.

If Prohm were to leave...I hope JP would be open to a coaching search and not just hire TJ. Nate Oats would be a perfect fit. The Matt Campbell of basketball. Here is a link from a few years ago when Iowa State fans raised money for his wife.

I agree with this. NOTE: I WANT PROHM HERE. But playing Devil's Advocate, the names I would love to hear on a list are: TJ, Oats, and honestly, I wouldn't be pissed about a Big East coach like Wojo but he might be waiting for Duke whenever K steps down?

it depends on whether she wants out of Ames.

That could also be caused by hormones associated with pregnancy, I mean look at the wild decisions non pregnant women make and multiply by 1000. I'm hot followed by, I'm cold then lets go out followed by lets stay home and cuddle. It isn't too much of a leap to be wanting to move especially during a winter like what we've had but it would be the same trying to suffer through a summer while pregnant down in bama.

I think Beard and Prohm are on a similar line. Drew is debatable - not because of success, but because I don't think it's been done as on the up-and-up as many would believe. Huggins is a thug so I refuse to give him credit. Lon has underachieved if you look at the recruits.

Wut? Lon made a final four.

I don't disagree with the basis except I don't think the contract needs a guaranteed raise for finishing with a winning record.
What 6 figure salary incentive does Barta give Fran for finishing 16-15?

Looking back though, what did even the Rhoads contract really cost Iowa State? Maybe he would have been fired after 2014 so possibly a year but I'm not sure. Sure it sucks to lose the money and you don't want to make it a habit. But coaches talk, and I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell was drawn to Iowa State knowing he'd have long term support from the AD.
Think about how much he saved the ad without bowl bonuses, coaching awards, coy, etc.
