The big key is to have an intense defensive game. Too often this year the defense on the 3 point line has been weak at best. Can't let the WVU get comfortable with shooting outside shots. After the game in Morgantown I expect WV to come out firing 3, and expecting to get easy shots. Need to change the formula on that.

This thread makes me think people haven't watched WV more than one game. They were simply on fire that game. Won't happen again.....
Cyclones win big.
this post makes me think you haven't watched iowa state let tcu hang around until late in the second half and yes I know it was a road game but if you're predicting a 20 plus win your wrong

My gut says we get this one after the game thread sheds its usual number of ledge jumpers at points early in the game. So go with your gut.

My gut also tells me we are in trouble when we meet the Fightin' Scott Drews on the road. That game has CF meltdown written all over it, IMO.

My gut says we win. No idea by how much. Need to guard better for sure. My gut is not worried about Baylor but is very worried about KSU.

It's payback time. Morgantown, WV was an absolute embarrassment for the Cyclones.

Ames, IA will have a different result.

Iowa State 88
West Virginia 74

A side note: Baylor is starting to play well again. If fanatics thought we would be victorious in Waco, TX. I would re-evaluate.

Are you even a ISU fan? Everything you post is negative.

Ejim is currently tied for the league's lead in scoring (with Juwan Staten) at 19.6 points per game. We need to stick to that young man like glue! Make them go to someone else, beat them in transition. And go for the century mark.

Games like this are pretty easy to predict in the college game assuming the team on the receiving end of the first blowout isn't a horrible team. See Memphis beating OK State after OK State stomped them in the first game.

This game goes similar to the one we just played against Texas. ISU looks in control the whole game.
ISU: 85
East side: 72

My impression of West Virginia is that they are like Oklahoma minus Ryan Spangler but with slightly better guards.

I think we can afford to shoot poorly from three as long as we don't take many of them. We'll have a rebounding advantage against West Virginia so most of our shots should be in the paint anyway where we're more likely to get second-chance points. I am worried about us playing defense since we seem to struggle most when we have to cover teams with fast guards.

WV 80, ISU 79.

Staten 28 pts, 10 assts, a fight with Hogue and the dagger game-winner.
