Still don't get the hate coming from certain quarters. The ISU football fanbase needs about 500 more Mark Charters. Let's take inventory:

-supports free fan site with advertising (check)

-buys season tickets in premium sections and makes requisitie donations (check)

-successful business guy who knows what winning looks like and has no problem calling out failure theater (check)

Never met the guy, but he looks like the right demographic that would help ISU take the next step. As an alternative, all the other Mark Charters out there who might choose to support ISU could just take their time and money and put it into something else that doesn't stink.

I started a thread the other day about keeping the coaches, because of their recent success on the recruiting trail. I believe this team is a QB away from being a good team. I truly believe that. So much depends on the QB play, not only in college football, but the Big 12 even more.

Kansas State has found a way to keep their heads above water even without a standout at QB. They are more fundamentally sound, however. Tech had the better QB yesterday and it REALLY showed. SBR is really holding this team back (and I hate calling players out), but it is the reality of the situation. If the coaches keep him in the game I will probably fall on the side of the fence that says we need to let them go....because, it is too much of an obvious decision to make and keeps us from building on our recent success on the recruiting trail.

We need to see what we have in Lanning OR De Lira to start building for next year. This team has talent and for the coaches to not see next year as a 'turning point' would make me jump ship and become a fire Paul Rhoads groupy.

Recruiting is the most important thing coaches can do at this level....we have some momentum in this area and I know it isn't easy to see right now, but knowledgable fans know the type of players we have been able to get the last two years.

I will say it again, we are a QB away from being a solid team. It jut sucks that the QB is the most important position on the field, because that is the position we lack the most. IF Rhoads wants to save his own job...he better put in Lanning.

If we have that many great players, we are either drastically over rating them due to ignorance or we have literally the worst coaching staff of all time.

It can't be just one or the other. Nothing in life is. "Things" need to change. What are "things"? Harbaugh fixed **** in 5 games at Michigan. Coaching is everything and " rebuilding " isn't necessary, especially if we have as much talent as is claimed.

I say we fire coaches every third year until we strike gold with an up and comer who REALLY turns things around.

I'm not joking very much.
