Hate to say it, but Bo Ryan suspecting ISU of tampering is the most logical explanation here.

MWitt is right. There's a difference between the inference that Bo Ryan must suspect it, and the inference that it's true. There's some possibility that Bo suspects it. I don't think anyone believes that it could be true.

I don't blame mwitt. When I started thinking about this situation that is where I ended up. Again, that doesn't necessarily mean it is true. We may be way off base on this line of thinking, he may have called Fred, Fred or someone on his staff may have called him. Who knows.

LOI scholarships are only good for one year, if the school decides so. Is a contract even being broken?

This is my understanding of schollys as well ... They are one year contracts and they can be renewed each year ... In most cases they are but i have known instances where the coach hasnt renewed it and the player can go elsewhere ... I personally would consider this a similar situation to a coach leaving a school - players commits to a school cuz of a coach and the coach up and leaves n players r left dumbfounded but when its the other way around the coach can limit where they go

Haven't read the entire thread and don't know if this has been said.....but I think Ryan did this at the request of a friend who previously recruited him......AND, previously coached at ISU. Ryan has absolutely no reason to put ISU on the no-go list. But a certain somebody does. And if anyone here thinks for a second this certain somebody...who some think resembles a character on Star Wars...has any love left for ISU....you would incorrect. Think about it.......all conference schools, a no brainer. Marquette, competing in-state school. But ISU.....................?

Interesting theory...don't believe it, but interesting nonetheless.

It would be interesting to know what Bo is telling young Mr. Uthoff the reason for the specific restrictions on his release.

The only legitimate reason is tampering by ISU (Jarrod's parents calling ISU doesn't count). Any other reason is BS on Bo's part and, if that's the case, he would wise to remove ISU off the restricted list if he doesn't want to hurt his rep amongst HS and AAU coaches.

There is no way that we reached out to Jarrod Uthoff out of the blue. It makes no sense to risk tampering, by recruiting a player that is redshirting. I would imagine that his uncle or parents reached out to us first (if there has been any contact at all).

Bo Ryan just made the entire ACC restricted for Uthoff (Not a joke)

According to the Metro Sports Report,

Uthoff said the University of Virginia (an ACC school coached by former Wisconsin assistant Tony Bennett) sought permission from Wisconsin to contact him. As a result, Ryan added Virginia and all the other ACC schools to the no-contact list.

Full Article: Ryan adds ACC to Uthoff's banned list

I would assume that if Wisconsin does not allow him to appeal that he will take it to the NCAA as he had mentioned within this latest article. I'm not sure what the premise would be from the NCAA regarding who you can or cannot place on a restricted list, but we may find out.

seems to be some bitterness in Bo .... I'm sure he has his reasons, but this could turn into a PR problem. JU is a good kid, great family too.... no reason to hate on them.
