That map is not even close. I seen the actual map and there are allot more alarms than what is on that map- there are also more tunnels.
Please note that map is from nearly 9 years ago. I'm torn- I really want to go in the tunnels (and I know you can) but I also know that DPS *will* arrest you when you inevitably trip a sensor.

So if the guy does sees you on his property, he will shoot???

As we were jumping in our vehicle, which was quite a ways away (at least 1/4 mile), we heard shots. Figured they were warning shots, as it was too far away and too dark to be aimed at us at all. Thats probably all they were. Honestly, at the point I was so scared **** less, that it barely sunk in, till my buddy mentioned it when we got back. When we tried to talk to him in the day, he was unarmed, and didn't seem like he would try to kill us.

I once heard that a guy named Chester Copperpot went into the ISU tunnels and never came out.

I would definately not be surprised if that guy had a gun! When he chased us out of there way back in the day he meant business! I didn't see a gun or hear shots, but it was a topic we discussed after we got away!

I think he just wants to be left alone and doesn't want anyone messing with his shrine! He snuck up on us and we didn't even know he was there till he turned the lights on to his van. He chased us all the way down the gravel road right on our bumper the whole way.

So you have talked to him??

It's in an earlier post. It wasn't much of a convo. He was working in the ditch, we rolled down the window and asked what the thing in the trees was. He looked away from us and yelled "get out of here!" very loud. It wasn't necessarily angry, but really detached. It reminded me of the Will Ferrel SNL skit of the guy who couldn't control the volume of his voice.

I've seen a few entrances to steam tunnels... including Beardshear, though they really aren't anything special. Never wandered more than 20' in... I was working so it probally would have looked bad to get arrested while working for FP&M

The basement of Beardshear is pretty odd with that dirt floor...

On a side note it's fun to drive a van up to the Campinelle

As for legal tunnels there is a tunnel between... Spedding and Metals Deveolopment? (I think...) under Pammel Drive, used to also be a fallout shelter

The rafters of Hilton are cool
As is the roof of the Press Box at the Jack
Been through the Football Locker Rooms and weight room
Locker Rooms at Hilton, as well as the storage rooms
The workshop in Fisher Theater (strangely.. never been in the auditorium, other than being on Stage when it was dark in there)

Never made it to the catwalks in Steven's, but been back/under stage
Been on the catwalks of Music Hall, as well as the roof (Pissed off the building manager because I had a key to it and he didn't)

I have aslo been in the basement of the Library, and once accidently set off the Fire Alarm there (we were going to do it anyways, but we hadn't silenced it yet

Also have been to "Fort Knox" - a storage room in the FP&M building. Mostly junk in there, some cool stuff, but the best was file cabinets full of origional and copies of blue prints to like every building on campus, as well as old campus maps

Found foundation drawing for the Jack, found the plans for my dorm room, ect

*Disclaimer - I worked for the University when I saw all of that

For a more legal place to get to - the Workspace in the MU. I wasn't a terribly crafty person but they have some good stuff down there.

M-Shop was a cool place too, don't remember if thats still operating or not

Cool thread by the way... I wish this had come out when I was still in school

I saw a lot of buildings while working on campus but you still don't catch everything if you dont' know to look

We went out to the "Dream House" as we called it (or Crazy House) a few Halloweens ago. We did a driveby then parked about a block away and walked up to it. Went all the way up to the center of it against the fence. Creepy looking place. I didn't get anything creepy coming from the house across the street though.

As for people who said they have been chases out, on our way back another car was heading out there, so we tailed them in our van all the way back into Ames down lincoln Way, everyone ducked down once we got into town so they could only see our male driver. We all popped up and to laugh, and they looked scaried ****less.

As for other placed, The Billy Sunday Cemetary (out by Billy Sunday Road) is kinda eery at night, but we also went there right after the dream house.

As for interesting, I always found the chapel inside the Browsing Library at the MU a little odd.

Pictures from inside the campinile. Didn't get a picture but I've actually been inside with the bells.

Also a worthy place to visit if you get the chance.

Usually the offer tours around VEISHEA, or if you're a senior they offer them for Senior week, sometimes homecoming, you just have to pay attention

In order:

I spent some time in the women's basketball locker room a couple years ago. Incidentally, that was also where I had three cheerleaders and a dancer hitting on me, much to the consternation of the guy who was going out as Cy.

Catwalks at Stephens are CRAZY scary. They're really narrow, and WAY F'ING UP IN THE AIR.

Music Hall: Of course Larry was pissed. Larry is pissed about everything. All the time. He's a giant ****.

You don't know if the M-Shop is still operating or not? You graduated six months ago. Yes, it's still there.

Ah, but have you been up in the bell chamber with the bells actually ringing? Incredibly dangerous (lose your hearing and get your head squished all in one go) but way cool!

About a year ago actually... and I was refering to budget cuts that was causing problems with shows coming in, not wether it was physically there or not

As for the bell chamber I avoided being there when the bells were ringing on purpose
