It is way worse than Prohm. Not sure who their coach is, but we aren't playing in a pandemic. Nobody's wearing masks anymore and fans are being allowed back inside gyms. Prohm and the team was awful that year, but they didn't have any buy games, outside of the 2 that that they won. They would have won 5 or 6 games under normal conditions, I think.

The Prohm team finished somewhere around 175ish on KP that year. They would of been a typical Fred Nebraska team in a normal year. Win like 5 or 6 buy games and couple in conference.

There are plenty of Power 5 teams worse than that this year. Minnesota, Boston College, Louisville, Oregon St, Cal, etc.

Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme. Hell, probably expedited the inevitable to our benefit.

Not blaming the loss on officials. Iowa lost this game with poor FT and 3 point shooting. But how do you miss these?

#1 looks like a flop. Clearly begging for a call and didn't get it. Both players moving. And banging. Defender intiates some of contact then when he gets it back goes down pretnding he was shot. Lol You might recognize physical play if you watched something other than the Big1 little 13.

#2 probably should been called, but he's moving towards the basket on a play in the lane. As fast as the defender crossed the lane and the possibility of a shot going up and the screener going for a rebound not surprising it was missed. About ten like it are missed against us in every game. The streaking defender was enough out of control that

Also love the "NOT BLAMING THE OFFICIALS" immediately followed by whining about the officials. Lol

Interesting game for Ulis. He hit a lot of big shots for Iowa on a cold shooting night but the turnovers and missed free throws in crunch time were huge. I still think he was their best guard last night despite the turnovers though.
He's kind of **** as a player at this level. Probably good enough to hang in the current state of the Big 10, but he wouldn't see minutes at any Big 12 program.

The Rutgers game is all of a sudden a must win for the Hawks. Iowa will be dogs in four away games (Purdue, Indiana, NW, Wiscy). Assuming they lose those four puts them at 12 losses. The projections have 89% chance for NCAA tourney at 19-12, but only 54% at 18-13. Which means a #9-10 seed at 19 wins, a play-in or first four out at 18 wins. That is assuming no more than one win in B1G tourney.

#2 is honestly just a poor defender getting dusted and then crying about it/faking an injury at the end after he gets beat around the screen.

Would love to see the reaction on here if Iowa did that and it was a no call that resulted in a wide open three pointer.
You’re making that non call far more egregious than it needs to be lol. The dude accidentally ran into Kris and Kris wanted to sell it to the ref who wasn’t buying it. Iowa State has had that same thing happen to them numerous times because our guys are trying to draw a charge and so far this conference season, haven’t gotten one. Hell that same interaction happened in Tuesday’s game but it was Bob Jones who fell.

Iowa is in a stretch of 16 consecutive games without playing a ranked team.

Dec 8 - Iowa State to Feb 9th - Purdue

That is over two months of playing in a division one conference without playing a ranked team...

And the game against Purdue will be their last ranked team until the conference tournament.

In that same time period ISU will play 6 ranked teams our of 16 games, with another 4 ranked teams until conference play.

Agree, but giving the benefit of the doubt as the screener had his hands down rolling to the basket in front of an out of control defender.

It was indecision by the screener for sure. But he had a right to his momentum to the basket as well. And can easily see how the defender is deemed out of control and the initiator of contact.

Wonder if Iowa is missing this guy right about now. Averaging double figures and playing good defense in the toughest league in America

I admittedly have not watched any of West Virginia, does anyone know if he is playing PG for them? I know Huggy likes to play a lot of guards, so wouldn't be surprised if he is an off the ball guy

Iowa's remaining schedule (and my prediction)

vs. Rutgers: L (Rutgers will remember losing at home to them)
vs. NW: W
vs. Illinois: W
@Purdue: L
@Minnesota: W
vs. Ohio St: W
@NW: W
@Wisky: L
vs. MISU: W
@ Indiana: L
vs. Nebby: W

That would put them at 19-12 so yeah probably 10 seed range.

#1 Honestly he's lucky he didn't get a flop warning.

#2 Should have been called as you can see he tries to take a screening position but widens his base and leans, before coming back to natural state then heading to basket for rebound.
