Wife keeps saying she wants to get one of these. I don't get it. What is the rage about these things? Is the cook time that is cut back or what? We got an air fryer a couple of years ago and we really like it. We already have like four different crock pots in the house. I need some convincing reviews from folks that have one. I even see there is even a ninja brand instapot. We already have the ninja blender and coffee maker, I don't think we need another ninja appliance in our house. TIA!!

I love mine. I used to use my crockpot frequently but time was always an issue. I work a lot, exercise a lot, and just seem to be pretty busy. It can take meals that used to take hours to cook in a crockpot and cook them in minutes. The longest time it's taken me to cook any dish was carnitas which was about an hour. Most are done in 10-20 minutes. It also makes the best rice and hard boiled eggs of any of the methods I've previously tried.

9/10 - would buy again.

edit: can't beat it for shredded chicken. Can throw the chicken in straight from the freezer which allows a lack of planning on my part :)

Have one, would recommend. Cook things that take all day in the crock pot in minutes. They're super popular obviously so there are about 7 million different recipes floating around the internet. IMO get the actual Instapot though, not a knock off just because it will line up with more recipes making things even easier.

Love ours. We use it at least one a week. Works better than a pressure cooker because you can sit it how you want. There are a lot of things you can cook in it. Nice for when you are not home much and meals are rushed.

I don't have one but from what I understand is it is a smart pressure cooker. With the presets it takes the guesswork out of pressure cooking. Put in your ingredients, lock the lid and select the preset and in 20 minutes or so you're eating.

I still can’t believe people like those air fryers.

dammit. All good reviews. My wife was wanting one too, and I've been fighting getting another kitchen appliance in the house.

Does anyone have any stories about the Instapot burning their house down, killing their family pet or performing satanic rituals?

It's fine. I like that I can dramatically cut down the time it takes to finish a roast, but my wife has played around with ours a lot and I guess I'd say it does some things better, some things worse. Definitely not the all purpose machine people bill it to be.

Ours gets used at least once a week. Very handy for making a quick(er) meal.

They are OK. It is not as instant as the name implies. it has to pressurize before cooking which can take 10-15 minutes some times, and then takes a couple minutes to let the pressure out.

The great convenience of them IMO is that you only get 1 thing dirty. And once you get the hang of it, you can load it and walk away until finished, which frees up some valuable evening time.

To reheat leftover pizza, it is awesome. I've cooked a lot of chicken breasts with it and some of the most flavorful I've ever had and they aren't even dried out. Just did some pizza rolls for lunch. Less than 10 minutes to heat up. I've even reheated day old McDonald fries and were like they just came out of the fryer. Wife loves it for doing frozen fries, tater tots. The key is to add the season before or during the cooking process. We've used ours so much the handle is about to come apart as we've had it around 3 years now. No more oil smell in the house from deep frying either.

I like ours for chicken breast, just set it and forget it.

Also I love that I can make an entire meal only using 1 pot. Pasta where I only have 1 dish to clean, yes please.

Do it, you won't regret it. I can't cook at all, but produce some great stuff with it.

We used ours alot when we got it and not near as much now. However, everytime I lug it out I wonder why I don't use it more. The other day I was going to make something in the crock pot and ran behind on getting it in. I'll be damned if that thing didn't make the same thing in about 45 minutes that the crock pot was going to take 6 hours.
