When I was a kid I was a huge NBA with Inside Stuff and NBA on NBC through the 90s, but now I haven't watched basically any games after I went to ISU and College Basketball. I'll see a few NBA games here and there, maybe 3 or 4 games a year, but I thought this was very interesting.

Draymond Green said that NBA is boring. A few quotes from the article.

"Every possession is some type of chess move," Green said, via the Associated Press. "You don't get that today in the NBA, often. ... You don't just get that on a regular basis. It's just who can run faster, who can hit more 3s, it's no substance. I think it's very boring."

The 2015-16 Warriors, who won 73 games, led the league with 31.6 3-point attempts per game. That mark would rank 29th this season. There are four teams taking over 40 3s per game, led by the Celtics at 48.3.....

Some crazy statistics about the 3 point attempts per game. They commish say they need to change the game and just not move back the 3 point line.

"To be honest, I wish it was as simple as just moving the 3-point line back, because then we would just do it. Part of the concern from the basketball folks is that if you move the 3-point line back, you'll end up just sort of clogging up the area under the basket, and that's not such attractive basketball either."

What do you think about the empjasis 3 point too much the game in NBA?

I know they need to have a 3 point shot, but I was thinking of what I'd be with without a 3 point line. Play the whole court not just the line. See people battle under the basket.

Think about the playing on the gyms you play 2:1 field shots, Organized basketball is 3:2, but what if NBA made.it like a 5:4. Now they would never do this like 2 FG shots or 2.5 at past the line, or do 3 points for standard FG and 4 after behind the line.

Thoughts?

I’m not sure how you make the midrange more valuable. I enjoy the shotmaking and the talent is just incredible right now. Like all sports, it’s become super metrics driven, so it’s trying to provide different paths to evening out the metrics.

As someone that likes the NBA, I think they could easily shave a dozen games off the regular season.
Tough to get owners to want to do that though.

(Same with MLB)
Yep think this is the bigger problem. Too long of season. Waters down the games and you have stars load managing to try and be ready for the playoffs

Jokic is the best player in the world going on four plus years. If someone finds his game “boring” they deeply hate basketball imho. He’s quite easily the best passer I’ve ever seen without even getting into the scoring and rebounding.

Has nothing to do with individual players or their skills. The game itself is just not watchable anymore.

The season doesn’t start until about a week before the playoffs for me. The difference between the regular season and playoffs is immense. Once the playoffs start and the teams start to care, it’s a great product. Until then, it reminds me of the intensity of all start games of old.

The NBA changed from nightly competition to mostly just entertainment. That’s when I stopped caring.

Exactly. I dont understand how much cash flows through NBA; owners, players, ticket prices for fans, and tv deals. Wow.

I was just looking another college game on YouTubeTV and I saw it's on the NBA All Stars weekend. I had no clue it was already their the all star break.
