I think Tampa weighed in at 189 at the combine, and measured 6'1".
Good call. I was looking at his NFL prospect page/article which was completed prior to combine. Still on the bigger end of CB's but much closer to the average than his pre-combine measurements.

Well... I lost my bet with a Hawk that he would go before DeJean. I was banking on a great 40 time.

Yeah that's not going to happen unless they think DeJean's leg didn't heal correctly.

This has Tampa a bit faster. How bout Nikkel ripping off a 4.40?!?

Perfect example of how technique and eye discipline/play recognition can greatly improve/reduce a players game speed. I would have never guessed Nikkel was a sub 4.5 guy.

Bigger CB, though. Running low 4.5’s isn’t uncommon at that size.
Agreed. Based on the excel spreadsheets from scouts; he should be considered as an NFL safety. I disagree and think he can/will excel as a CB.

I would like to know how TJ did in the other drills. He is an athletic freak, but it may not show in the 40 as much as other drills. I think his length will help offset the 4.5 40.

And to think people ripped me a new one for saying he'd likely go in the 2nd or 3rd round, and if I were an NFL GM and took off my cardinal and gold glasses, that I would take him in the 2nd round.

I do think he covers better than a 4.53 guy, but I never thought he had blazing speed. He has good enough speed, but probably not to get taken in the 1st.

As I said before though... the draft hasn't happened yet, and I hope nothing but the best for TJ and I'm hoping like crazy that he does go in the 1st round.

No one ripped you for saying he’d go in the second round.

You were ripped for saying he didn’t cover well enough to go higher.
