Shelter prevalence is better than it was 10 years ago. The thing people in the upper Midwest have a tough time grasping is the mobile home situation. Iowa/Wisconsin/Minnesota, etc SEEMS like there are a lot of mobile homes. But in reality they dont have many compared to Oklahoma/Arkansas/and of course Dixie Alley.

I don’t like that language about the tornado threat and area of most concern for Central Iowa today. I don’t think the god of meteorologists would make those claims today. I think all hazards including up to EF2 tornadoes are possible pretty much anywhere in the tornadic risk area, even the 2% area. It’s all about the timing. Not saying there WILL BE tornadoes of EF2 Intensity, but I would not be putting those vibes out today.
Well, at least now we know what happened to that missing Chinese weather balloon….
We found insulation board as well. No tornadoes near us just carried in the storms.
I had a bathroom vanity delivered down there today. It would of been just my luck to have the house destroyed right after I ordered everything to remodel a bedroom and bath.
Not sure what this was or is. Might have to pursue it tomorrow. No wind at this location. It just fell.
If you had my luck, an EF5 would hit just as I was driving the last nail
We have church friends who live within blocks of there. They had 1/2 their house ripped off by a tornado in the 80's. Yesterday they were hit again -- less severe, but lost windows, shingles, giant trees, etc.
Watch coming for eastern IA.

That is crazy town. I’ve lived in Iowa my whole life and the only tornado I’ve seen was a year or two ago that hit Bondurant and I was in Ankeny.
