All I got out of this thread so far is that Cytom5 is an idiot?

This team is exactly who I thought they were going into the season.

They aren't very good, and there isn't a lot to judge the staff on yet. I had planned to reserve judgment until after next year. Gonna have to stick with that.

I thought we'd be an embarrassment to the game of basketball, and we are. I had just let my expectations run away at mid season.

I thought they'd play harder for Fred, especially in year one.

Some of you really amaze me. What did some of you think was going to happen this year? You'd think some here were thinking top place finish in the conference. Christ, he took over a program in shambles. Fred's doing the best he can with what he has to work with. If we still had Mac as coach we probably wouldn't even have a conference win. It will be so nice next year to see how Fred does with the A Team in uniform and seeing some of you groveling in shame.

I'm not hearing too many posters expecting more out of the season. They over performed during out of conf sched.

He's not the only one on this board. I guess it's Cyclone FANATIC for a reason.

I think we're outmanned. You can't honestly say they aren't trying hard... like they just want to show up and half-*** it and be done playing for their career. C'mon... we've got a serious talent deficiency compared to the other teams AND we're running on empty with such a shallow team. Sorry. I don't buy that they're not playing hard. The reality is with our depth and talent situation that we have to play near-perfect games to beat most teams in the big-12 right now. I'm sure the late collapses have really beat the team down and killed confidence, but those kids are still trying to get it done.

Seriously, the biggest crime that happened is that our expectations went way up, and considering we were so close in 3-4 early conference games, I think we would be in a different boat had we gotten 2-3 of those (especially OSU). I still think we might pull off an upset or two, but I just want to see these guys finish hard and do their best.

Alluding to Hoiberg's job being in trouble? Not even remotely close.

DG and JVB don't have a lot of fight in them. They aren't that kind of player. I just hope their lackadaisical attitude doesn't rub off on the younger players.

DG does. He's carried the team on multiple occasions. JVB just gives up.

They played hard early in the season. Hell, they've played hard for most of the season. Didn't play hard against Texas Tech or Missouri. I didn't watch tonight, but I'll assume they didn't play hard tonight.

So we need to calm the hell down. If you can't, don't watch any more games this year and you'll be a hell of a lot happier.

The one negative (although there were many) that really stands out to me tonight was Vanderbeken. As a SENIOR...someone that the younger guys look up to and feed off of. How in the world do you get 5points and no rebounds in 23 minutes? Banged up or not, that if absolutely pathetic and shows no mental or physical toughness whatsoever.

This whole team is full of guys that are asked to do something they dont normally or can't do.

DG has to be (and is) our only ball handler but he has to be the leading scorer too???

JVB is our tallest player but because he is a pick and pop SHOOTER, people criticize him for not being a post presence

Ejim is a freshman and is playing more minutes than he ever did at high school/prep school. Plus, he is playing at the 4 when he clearly should be playing at the 3

Jake is our leading rebounder??? at 6'2"???

Bubu is a walk-on playing significant minutes

Scotty is counted on to be the leading scorer when DG is off

McKnight and Railey should be redshirting

Mitchell and McBeth didnt even play basketball 3 weeks ago

I gave this team 13 wins and even though they have struggled (like tonight) and let games slip away (Nebraska, OSU, Cal, etc) I'm very proud of the way they have played. Somebody tell me an ISU team that was as undermanned as this team
