Ah, the other shoe drops. Can't wait till next week when we find out that A-Rob and Arnaud have become Scientologists and have ran off to California to give pheton tests.

Is there anyone with some insight into this? Man I wish CW was around!

I agree that if Hayworth Hicks regains his eligiblity, then this is not a huge blow. It would definately hurt in terms of depth, but Hicks is a very good guard and will fill in nicely.

The semester just got over...he has had issue with grades in the past...grades get posted at the end of the semester...I'm guessing it had something to do with grades...i dont know why i keep putting three periods after everything i type...

That is okay....you just let the reader speculate the rest.....we do it all the time...

Are you saying Hicks isn't as good?
Just to clarify (from my perspective)...

A. Hicks may not be quite as good.

B. Hayworth has also had grade problems in the past, and is thus seemingly at some risk in his own right.

C. He would also be a bit rusty after sitting out, and doesn't have Haughton's career 17 starts.

And also:

D. This would seem to eliminate any chance of Caspers getting the redshirt that has been hinted abiout.

If it is grades it seems strange that he does not have a chance to get the grades back up, unless he blew off the whole semester and got the famous 0.00.

I have to imagine that Drew Davis will be decent. He lived in my building this year and is the largest human being I have seen in my life.

That couldn't be the issue. Heck, you can still win the Doak Walker award with that GPA.

Edit: And for the OP: try this website... http://www.heavethehawk.com/ Check out the Hawkisms.

I don't think it's that strange. He had questionable grades before. Still eligible, but questionable. PR gave him a second chance and he must have blown it. My guess is that it was effort related. I think PR and the staff are holding kids to higher accountability than simply being eligible. I think that's great. While it sucks to lose him, if he isn't doing what is demanded by the program while all others are, then he does not deserve to be here.

If he was dismissed due to some crime he committed, couldn't we just delay the court trial for a year and let him play in the meantime. Then when they find him guilty after the season is over he can just declare for NFL. It's a win win situation, and I've heard it's been done elsewhere before. :jimlad::wink:
