I know knothing, purely speculation coming from me.

I hightly doubt it was something as minor as that, based on Rhoads treatment of Banks/Hamlin/Lang when they were busted last year. Probably something bad or some kind of chronic issue with Haugton.

I don't know what is behind his dismissal, but it must have been fairly significant. He was arguably our best lineman.

IMO anyone who made that argument would lose it. I think that he was the third best OL behind KO and Lamaak. That being said, it will still hurt. I was excited to see what he could do inside. Gotta have Hicks step up now. Sean Smith did play some decent snaps inside last year, so maybe he gets a shot. Either one of those or Caspers takes off the redshirt. I know that Bleil was pretty excited about Lichtenburg and Bykowski, but IMO they are a year away.

I agree that KO would be #1, but I would probably put SH #2. Definitely not what we needed.

I just don't see that. You don't kick someone off the team for grades, they fail out of school. Just the way it was worded makes me think that this isn't a grades thing. Either we're talking a major crime or a chronic problem that they've had to deal with multiple times. But even then, if it is a reoccurring problem, you'd think that we would see a suspension before it got to this point.

As I was saying earlier, this sounds correct to me. IF it were an academic thing it would have been mentioned. It had to be something that kept happening or maybe he got arrested and we just dont know it yet. This scenario has happened before.

A while back there was a buzz that he felt he was NL ready and would "definately" declare after his junior year... Maybe he got a little full of himself???

But yes - huge loss...

Agree. I think KO is number 1 and Lamaak did just as much at RT as Haughton and is more flexible. I really think Hicks steps in. The guy has a ton of talent.

Man, I know all teams have these issues, but I am really getting tired of losing guys to being stupid (either in the classroom or during off the field activities).

C'mon guys get your act together!

No. I think we seriously are talking grades.

You have to remember that the reason that we got him was because we were willing to take a chance on him. A lot of schools stayed away because no one thought that he would ever qualify.

As opposed to what, doing something smart and getting kicked off?
