The problem with some of these guys is not this year. It's losing talent for the future like the twins. I know there is not much we can do these days to stop it. Just sucks we can't develop some of these guys like they need to be.

The portal has basically stopped development at lower NIL destinations. And large NIL players will simply buy the best players possible. The 2 big college sports suck now for everyone.

It was funny. When the new unis were announced before last season, gold pants were featured in some of the model photos of all the new, different color combos.

I love all the LB's who have played the last two years, most were thrown into the fire before they were ready but played their butts off. There was bound to be attrition in this group but I don't really like seeing any of them go.

I have heard through the grapevine that Jack was 3rd on the depth chart at his position in a very deep room. This is an opportunity to allow him to find a place he will play more.

Iowa State still has 113 guys on the roster with 10 high school signees, 1 JUCO, and 2 transfers not enrolled (not on roster). We will need to get down to 105 so that will mean 21 guys will need to be cut.

Not sure when the cut date has to be but you'd assume the staff will have some difficult conversation in the coming days. Would want to give the cut guys an opportunity of hitting the portal if they want. Portal closes April 25th, I anticipate this will not be the last guy to enter the portal.

There are currently close to 30 walk-ons on the roster that have never seen significant game action. The Staff won't have any problem getting down to 105. I'm sure there are guys among those walk-ons that the Staff wants to keep and thinks have high long-term potential, but that is where nearly all of the cuts will come.

It's a great look but we have the "DONT LOOK LIKE USC" crowd

I'm sure there are guys among those walk-ons that the Staff wants to keep and thinks have high long-term potential, but that is where nearly all of the cuts will come.

It won’t be all walk ons gone. Football has a 10% cut also to build NIL so I am guessing schollys stay at 85.

He was second string at the beginning. Then was playing due to injuries. Then he got injured. It was messy.

This combo reminds me of #1 Jarvin West taking a kickoff return to the house!

And this combo does look good, IMO. Probably the only combo with gold pants that definitely does. We should use it! Any other combo with gold pants I'm ok leaving out.
