Hate to see him go, but the linebacker room is crowded. Hardly a surprise. I half expected them to redshirt him this year. And even ‘26 would have been problematic.

Best of luck to him. He didn’t quite have the physical gifts you need to be a high level Big 12 LB. But he battled hard for us and was an important part of two good teams. Hope he finds a good landing spot.
Kid was tough as nails and battled through some injuries to give us help when we needed it. LB room is crowded, wish him no ill will. Thanks for being a Cyclone!
The competition between Bacon, Brezina, McLaughlin, Willich, and Ebel for starting spots will be great. Everyone will get better and everyone will play.
The problem with some of these guys is not this year. It's losing talent for the future like the twins. I know there is not much we can do these days to stop it. Just sucks we can't develop some of these guys like they need to be.
Have 113 on the roster after jacks departure. Not sure how many new recruits aren’t listed. Means at least 8 more are gone. Unless a couple have a retirement scholly.
I hope the kid find a good landing spot and balls out. That said, when we had 3 probable starters out before the first game even hit halftime, I kind of thought he would pick up the slack and play well. Didn’t really happen. Now maybe he had his own injury issues, but it sure looked like he was behind Barnes and Goodwin.
He was hurt, when he could play, he was infront of Barnes. Goodwin is a different position. JS was a middle backer, not fast enough got OLB.

Iowa State still has 113 guys on the roster with 10 high school signees, 1 JUCO, and 2 transfers not enrolled (not on roster). We will need to get down to 105 so that will mean 21 guys will need to be cut.
Not sure when the cut date has to be but you'd assume the staff will have some difficult conversation in the coming days. Would want to give the cut guys an opportunity of hitting the portal if they want. Portal closes April 25th, I anticipate this will not be the last guy to enter the portal.

It was funny. When the new unis were announced before last season, gold pants were featured in some of the model photos of all the new, different color combos.
I actually think the gold with the away white jerseys is a sweet look. But I don't believe we ever wore the gold pants last season. Maybe this year.
I'm gonna kidnap Campbell and handcuff him to a radiator.
