Speaking of Tennessee Titans being generic, remember the first year after they fled Houston, when they played in Memphis? They’d bugged out of Houston so fast they hadn’t come up with new uniforms yet so they played one season as the Tennessee Oilers. At least it didn’t stick, like the Minneapolis/LA Lakers or the New Orleans/Utah Jazz or the Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies. Plenty of “jazz” in Salt Lake City, and grizzly bears roaming around Memphis.

I don’t think that is true. Bears are everywhere.

Keep the name redskins and just be red skinned potatoes. everyone wins.
And move the franchise to Boise, & put red turf in the new stadium. Their cheerleaders could be called the Tater Tots & they could have a kid’s club called The Small Fries. Their concessions could offer both alcohol and weed with slogans “We’re half-baked” and “Let’s get s’Mashed.”

As a Washington fan, I came in with extremely low expectations for this name change for two reasons: 1. It’s 2022 and most modern nicknames are extremely lame due to being focus group driven and 2. Dan Snyder, the worst owner in sports history is the ultimate decision maker.

I personally liked something like red hogs or razorbacks as a call back to the “hogs” era of Redskin football, but I knew that made way too much sense for a complete idiot like Dan Snyder to go for.

As for commanders, meh. I guess we’ll get used to it. Could be worse I suppose.

Good lord did they do a horrible job of keeping this a secret. From pages not blurred out on TV shows, to putting the name in their store, to the former players running their mouths. Oh. Let's not forget registration of the dang website.

Was hoping for a swerve at the end, but a **** franchise does **** things.
