Maybe try opening your eyes?
Lol first it was the freezer door as I was reaching for something in the fridge, then I dropped a branch on my head at work, and since I've been able to use the garage in the back now, I've hit that a few times since the door doesn't go all the way up. Oh and on a project I'm working on.

Pretty disappointed in the lack of old school horror movies being shown on Syfy/AMC etc. this month.

To make up for it I did catch 'The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown' special this past week. Surprised by how much I remembered.

Been watching a different kind of horror film this weekend. Don't know why. Yesterday was Platoon. Today it's Hamburger Hill. Part of it is the soundtracks, I think. Right now it's on the chopper scene where they're going into the Inchon valley...background music is "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" by the Animals.

I KNEW Inchon didn't sound right. That's Korea. This is the A Shau valley (pronounced ay shaw).

Geez I didn't see Platoon until I was in college and in a class literally about the Vietnam war. Known as a rare film that didn't romanticize war.

The thing I remember the most was it was a night class, and there was one night where I was planning on going out afterward, but we watched a documentary about Vietnam featuring I believe the My Lai massacre with footage from the units moving through the jungles, interviews, etc.

Needless to say after watching that I didn't go out.

I knew a lot of guys in college who had been there, and a lot of HS friends whose older brothers stayed there. I don't know why I get on these kicks sometimes...
Next up will probably be We Were Soldiers...or maybe Casualties of War.
Pro tip. If you want to watch a film about Nam, DO NOT watch "The Green Berets".

It can be a fascinating thing to dig into to say the least and there's so many avenues to go down.

The doc footage of the troops walking through the forest and hearing the Vietnamese soldiers communicating without knowing where they were is more eerie than most horror movies, for sure.
