I wouldn't be able to name the last one for each let alone the last three
The cities I came up with were London, Sochi, Beijing, Lillehammer, Rio de Janeiro, Pyeongchang and Vancouver.
In order, it was actually Beijing (S2008), Vancouver (W2010), London (S2012), Sochi (W2014), Rio (S2016) and PyeongChang (W2018). Lillehammer was actually waaaaaaay back in 1994.

Yeah, it barely even rained where I am. I live in Fairfax, so I guess I’m just far enough west to avoid it? Some of the highways were closed though, which created a bit of a disaster, and I know one of my employees they lives in Maryland had to call out because his basement was completely flooded.
I love how on KCCI all they said was flooding in Washington, D.C. and showed footage without any signs or other landmarks. Because we were just there for a week in mid-late June, I wanted to see if it was anywhere (near) where we were. Of course here in Iowa, why would we want to know even what part of the city was flooded. Washington, D.C. is all we need to know.

My boss did give me the day off, but no key to a house.

I might have gotten Bejing if I thought about it.

Speaking of vacations & Minnesota...

90% chance we're heading up next week to see the other set of in-laws way up north. (Grand Rapids area) Usually, we'd take 35 north as far as it would make sense, then meander our way up to route 2, then head west. Google maps has us taking 494 in TC to 101, and then 169 up. But I think, if I'm interpreting it correctly, I'm seeing construction on 494. We'd probably be hitting TC late lunchtime.

What say you, Minnesotans?

As a native, 101/169 is absolutely the fastest. Only issue may be 494-94
I agree with @CycoCyclone. There's always construction on 494. If it's a Friday afternoon you should still be OK around lunch time. If it gets much later than 1, 494 going west and where it intersects with 94 can get a bit backed up. Also, 101 will get backed up a little later and you may have to deal with some traffic on 169 around Mille Lacs.

It's still going to be the best route in my opinion.

We took 169 last week and there wasn't any construction from the northwest suburbs to Garrison so that's a plus.

Operation Transplant got rained out after three hostas.

Operation Guerrilla pruning, completed (again). The odd neighbors will never miss the weeds and weed trees blocking the view of us trying to exit the alley.

Operation BB Fury, also rained out. Seems the tree rats have apparently taken shelter.

Initiating Operation Afternoon Sloth.

Took Emma to the vet today because it looked like her spay incision was infected. Turns out, the muscle isnt healing right and she is having fluids leak out. So, we had to leave her for surgery today. Yay......
Poor baby! Boots sends his sympathies also...he's caged & on antibiotics due to a quarrel with a feral cat. :(

I'll see if I can convince the husband to take the "unusual" route for us. We're aiming to hit TC around lunch hour on Monday, so the really stupid traffic shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks, Cyclone fans of the great white north.

For @wxman1 , @Cybirdy , and @cyhiphopp

So I stopped at the Strawberry Patch in Ankeny on my way home today. Walked out of the store, and stopped dead in my tracks. I heard....a Dr. Beat...which was then followed by some drumline. I thought I had gotten rid of that sound from so long ago out of my head. Thanks Ankeny HS marching band!

(FYI, for those of you completely in the dark, go to this website and click on 160 bpm. That's what I was hearing.)

Edit: Or, just hit the play button. Woo hoo. Three posts in a row.
