Today has not went badly yet. Just got out of going to wife's HS class reunion. Don't have to listen to her male classmates talk about HS football or who they slept with. It's that day every five years that I just dread, around people I have nothing in common with (because they are still in HS mentally) and eat a meal that isn't that great. Yeah, me.

BTW, who goes to their class reunions? I went to my fifth and that was it.
I went to my 35th. It was ok. Certainly wouldn't have wanted to do one every 5 years

The weather these last two days has been great. Today not quite as muggy as yesterday. Sold a decent amount of raffle tickets but no where near as many as I would have liked. One of the guys is at the drags in Humboldt. He's a real schmoozer and can sell 3 times what I can.

Not raining. Not even supposed to rain today. And wind is not howling. There is a brightness in the sky that appears to be sunshine.

 and a little bit

Well, that didn't last long. Went from mostly sunny to 100% overcast in about 30 minutes.

I might attend my 40th reunion (Where in the world did that time go?) Supposedly people aren't supposed to be as jerk like by then. I would much rather get together with some of the people I went to college with but have lost touch with. Got to see a friend from college a month or so ago but it was because of her dad's funeral:confused:. We did trade #'s though so maybe we'll do a better job of staying in touch.

Not exactly sure.
Ok, oldest said something to me the other day and since I have basically tuned out news the last five years or so, I hadn't heard this. (I will look at msn and couple others on occasion but not much). Avoiding the major politics, what is the deal with the american flag shoes? Pastor in church mentioned something about them and it got me more curious. If it's a pure political thing, feel free to DM me if that is more comfortable and/or help to keep politics out of here. Seems like the flag is on everything else and didn't know what the deal with them on shoes were. Was the flag on the bottom so basically people were stomping on the flag or what?

Can't do this here w/o Caving it. But, no, there was no flag on a sole or anything. And, yes, it's purely political. It sure as hell ain't religious. Just another tempest in a teapot outrage of the day BS.

I have found myself avoiding the hardcore politics people. Not everything out there is linked to that. Thanks for the info, I had a feeling it probably was, but wasn't sure.

But nothing is more important to the future of America than getting into a political pissing contest about sport shoe marketing. Mundane issues like health care costs, living wages, affordable housing and college debt pale in comparison to getting a shoe company in line with "proper" values.

I think the main camps are it's a patriotic image and it's cool in a sneakerhead way. The other camp is it harkens back to a day where slavery occurred. What camp you fall into is where it gets political.

In any event, not religious. Was peacher including this in his sermon?

Not much of a church guy. Not much of a religious guy at all but I'll attend church with sister and family on holidays just to not stand out as the black sheep. With that said if I am ever listening to a sermon and they start bringing political stuff into it I am getting up and walking out. Was in Indiana in nieces suburban big box church and was sweating that out a little but he stayed pretty much on the Christmas message.
