I'm 4 11ish. I swear she's up to my elbow already. The scary part is that she's still petite and small compared to other kiddos!

We measured our feet yesterday and her foot is at the ball of my foot.
Our one & only grandson has been with us for the past 10 days. He's turning 13 in August. He's three inches taller than me. Of course, I'm only 5'1", but still!!! He'll be a six foot something like his dad & uncle; both of them were looking down at me when they were in 5th grade.

My salary was tied to my job title, so the pay was preset and inflexible. The boss I had for the last seven years I worked was incapable of expressing appreciation. One year, she had a meeting with our department manager who told her that starting an annual employee eval with a positive comment was always the best way to start. So she said on my annual eval was that I was the most punctual employee she had ever had. Yay? I'm not sure how she knew this since she usually showed up at around 9.30-ish, took a couple hours for lunch, and left at 3.30-ish!

Is she still there? Circumstances and situations like those make me shake my head because I can relate, even though the details are different. So puzzling and frustrating on a number of levels. And I don't think this "new world" at ISU will make things better.

Early November in the Pacific NW to catch ISU play Oregon State is tempting.
We have a conference in West Virginia the week before. But we also have our daughter and family in Corvallis. Very tempting to fly from West Virginia to Oregon, but we'd have a week's worth of dirty clothes, plus the need to fly home the day after the game. Wish it would have ben scheduled a little later in the season.

What is the "new world" concept your talking about? Is it something Pres. Wintersteen is pushing or something else from someone else? when she was the head of CALS I thought she was pretty sensible and accessible as an alumni looking in. Granted my interaction was extremely limited, a "Big Donor" I'm not.

Wendy is great. If she knows your name, she’ll always remember it. I was referring to “workday” which is the answer to everything.

Speaking of summer. Rained in again this evening so hanging with my date. She's French, don't you know, and loves salmon.

Had a very good first day in Chicago. Went to several locations from John Hughes movies highlighted by the Home Alone house and finished with supper at Portillo's. Also discovered that one of my all time favorite movies groundhog day was mostly filmed in Woodstock, IL not too far from where I'm staying.

Holding little man's hand today I was struck by how much bigger it is compared to when he was born.
