Contrast that with Leath's comments. Leath basically threw Rhoads and even Pollard under the bus and drove over them. So far it appears that Leath is in over his head. Fire him and get a great President of ISU like Dr. Geoffrey.

CPR appears to be in over his head.

The people that think that this should have been kept behind closed doors also probably think that when Rhoads is fired that should also be kept behind closed doors - keeping it so quiet that nobody knows about the firing and Rhoads comes out and coaches yet another **** poor season.

I love the way Leath has hired more full time faculty. I hated the way he handled Bubu. Now I love his honesty in this situation.

Sorry for the digression. I am trying to understand what we are up against. Bowl teams have added recruiting exposure, increased revenue, another month of practices. How are the third-world programs supposed to overcome that? if any team needs another month of practice, it's ISU.

This probably means he is doing a good job.

Re: Everyone Knows the Score....

Just keep ranting, then. You've put forth a theory, others have put forth an alternate one. But, I'm sure you're smarter than a university president (and I expect the predictable "I think this one, I am" response).

Put it this way...you're agreeing with clonedude...that right there ought to tell you whether you're right or wrong.

You must be a Prophet! Considering I have managed and been President (of an albeit smaller companies and have a Master's in Management) one of the general premises of any leadership position, no matter what the size of the company, is to hire the right people and get out of their way. That does not make me smarter then Leath, but apparently smarter than you! You don't publically make statements that counter your VP's direction for the department they are responsible for..unless you want your stock to plummet. You fire them 1st.

Yeah like Everyone inside ISU doesn't already know this including CPR. How does Leath's PUBLIC comments help Recruiting now? Bottom line is I want as much talent infusion as possible NOW and Leaths BIG mouth just blocked that.

I don't think Leath's statement will have ANY negative effect on recruiting at all. Recruits are already well aware that ISU, and Rhoads in particular, are in need of immediate and drastic change. I would venture to guess that immediacy is even part of the salesmanship our coaches/recruiters are employing at this point.

Pretty much this. Wasn't lack of administrative support a big reason for our utter futility in the 80s and 90s?

Yes, it felt like some of those administrations were almost anti athletics. Good to know that the current President thinks our on field performance reflects on the university. He's correct and I'm glad he affirmed it. I am guessing everyone who works for him took note. Nothing wrong with a strong statement from the top, especially when things are going as poorly as they are with the football program.

Leath became President of ISU in January 2012. The football program started going downhill from then on. Fire Leath.

Your communication skills sorta blow though since you have to post the same thing over and over and over again. But, ooh ooh ooh, you have a masters degree in business! But we get it, really, you are very very smart and everyone who disagrees with you is very very dumb.

:biglaugh:

Time to put you and Cdude into the ignore pot.
