OK, I was extremely bored at work today and quickly compiled a game-by-game breakdown of Iowa State's football season. I realize that in no way is it realistic, and I'll just say it before you all crucify me. It is essentially a best case scenario/fantasy-land dream of how I would like our football season to play out. I could have taken it much further, but I slammed on the brakes a little.

I had stats for individual games, but since the file was huge, I limited it to just overall season statistics. Stats are attached, I've got game by game scores here:

Iowa State 44 NDSU 17
Iowa State 37 Kansas State 34
Iowa State 35 Iowa 31
Baylor 54 Iowa State 42
Oklahoma State 48 Iowa State 30
Iowa State 55 Toledo 14
Iowa State 46 Texas 43 (OT)
Oklahoma 45 Iowa State 24
Iowa State 56 Kansas 21
Iowa State 47 Texas Tech 42
Iowa State 45 West Virginia 39 (OT)
TCU 34 Iowa State 24 (out of gas finally)

For those of you keeping track at home, that's an 8-4 finish, 5-4 Big 12 record. I included a bowl game against no opponent specifically, which we win incidentally (homer, sue me).

I was so bored all I could dream about was how Mangenius is going to turn this offense around, and I probably got a little too excited. I obviously don't account for injuries not to mention really having no clue what the actual depth chart will be. Oh well, it was fun.

For comparisons sake, that is:
164 more plays than last year or ~14 a game, I guess doable.
~1800 more passing yards, 28 more passing TDs (compared to 19 last year)
~650 more rushing yards, at an extra 1.5 YPC

Sign me up.

EDIT: That would also put us 7th in YPG based off 2013 stats, one spot behind a little school known as Florida State.

Looks like bundrage had 80 catches.
One receiver had 8.4 yards a catch. Not very elusive.
Thought Boesen would do better.

How did our new instate punter do?

14 more plays per game? That's like 5 whole drives

You are going to be very disappointed after this season.
