I've never done a poll before, so this may not work as I'm expecting......oh well, here goes....

I've been really curious as to how a poll like this would play out lately. For a long time, I wouldn't even question this to cyclone fans, but I am starting to wonder if this is changing based on some of the posts I've read around here lately.

It's very obvious which option our administration is aligned with and that happens to be the option I believe in b/c at the end of the day - it's not only about W's and L's.

Just trying to put things into perspective for some of you. What phrase does the brick pillar have engraved on it in the NE corner of Jack Trice Stadium? I'll give you a hint: "__?__ BEFORE __?__." This phrase is in that particular order for a reason and if you switch it around, WINS become irrelevant IMHO.

Here is a theory that myself and a couple friends came up with. Let's get a coach that will win at all costs...paying recruits, calling during the dead period, etc. Let's have one or two crazy good seasons (we've never had one at Iowa State...winning the Insight Bowl isn't great). We the fans have a great time for two years, go to MAJOR bowl games, and win at least one of them. Then ISU gets caught and goes on probation for three years. Well with the pace that ISU is on we don't go to bowls that often anyway so who cares?

Ok, there are some flaws to the idea but you get the idea!

I could care less about having a bunch of boyscouts on the floor/field. I want winners...

Even if the winners make it so the school is fined repeatedly and loses out on any wins they obtain? I dont needs saints out there but I do need guys that arent idiots and wont rape, cheat, and steal at a school I love.

IMO, the first option should apply to ANY college coach. The second to ANY pro coach.

Anyone wanting our coaches to break the rules to win are not the kinds of fans I want associated with ISU.

I'm disgusted with the number choosing win at all costs.

The poll is asking two extremes, neither are very attractive, but if I were to lean one way, it would be towards the winning side... Take some chances on some kids, play with attitude and swagger, push the limits of the rules while staying within them...

Not a whole lot of gray area in this one. I don't want to break the rules, but I'm guessing there are a lot of Cyclones I've rooted for over the years whose off the court activities would make me blush. I don't really have a problem with that.

There needs to be a happy medium.

As I agree with what your saying, I think that we aren't looking to a medium as much as we are saying that we can when AND have good people. There are alot of teams that win and have good guys playing for them.

I am suprised that option one is winning. Judging by all the negative posts that come around after EVERY loss, it seems most people are truely #2 type fans. IMO

People were happy when we were winning with Kenny Pratt and Jamaal Tinsley...and people were excited about the prospects of Roy Bright, Theo Davis, and Justin Holt coming to play here...not to mention Travis Spivey...

I don't think it's any question what people want...

Look at how upset Cincinnati fans were that Huggins was let go...

I hope (and think) we're on our way to winning, and doing it the classy way (I know a people don't wanna hear it...wait til next year, etc...).

there needs to be a happy medium so to speak. Although it is tough for me to say this, if mac has to break a couple recruiting rules to get talent in here..do it...everyone else is.

all the cool schools are doing it. haha

How many of the posters on here have man crushes on Homan and Vroman? Did people like having the Davis brothers? Eilers?
